Gillian Sewell (born November 1, 1972, in Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a former Irish Canadian field hockey player who earned 36 international caps for the Canada during her career.
On national level Sewell, a resident of Hamilton, Ontario, has participated in the CIAU Championships for four years and has led her team to three OWIAA Championships. She has been a CIAU and conference all star from 1991 to 1994 and 1996.
The Belfast-born Sewell claimed all-star honours in Indoor Hockey as well for both Ontario and Canada. She captained the 1993 Canadian Junior World Cup Team.

U Sports is the national sport governing body for universities in Canada, comprising the majority of degree-granting universities in the country and four regional conferences: Ontario University Athletics (OUA), Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), Canada West (CW), and Atlantic University Sport (AUS). The equivalent body for organized sports at colleges in Canada is the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Some institutions are members of both bodies for different sports.
The Waterloo Warriors are the intercollegiate sports teams that represent the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The Warriors have found success over certain spans in football, hockey, rugby, golf and basketball among others, and the Warriors have won national championships in ice hockey (1974), basketball (1975), and women's swimming (1975). For many years from the 1960s through the 1990s, Warrior basketball games attracted the largest and rowdiest basketball crowds in the country. The Warriors Football teams have won two Yates Cup Championships, in 1997 and in 1999.
Sarah Forbes is a Canadian former field hockey goaltender who played for York University and the Women's Senior National Team.
Stephanie Jameson is a former Canadian women's field hockey international. Between 2012 and 2017 she held the record as Canada's most capped women's field hockey international. She represented Canada at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, at the 2003, 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games and at the 2004 and 2009 Women's Pan American Cups. She won three CIS Championship titles with UBC Thunderbirds in 2001, 2003 and 2004. She also played for Ulster Elks in the Women's Irish Hockey League and helped them win the 2014–15 Irish Senior Cup.
Ontario University Athletics is a regional membership association for Canadian universities which assists in co-ordinating competition between their university level athletic programs and providing contact information, schedules, results, and releases about those programs and events to the public and the media. This is similar to what would be called a college athletic conference in the United States. OUA, which covers Ontario, is one of four such bodies that are members of the country's governing body for university athletics, U Sports. The other three regional associations coordinating university-level sports in Canada are Atlantic University Sport (AUS), the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CW), and Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ).
Kim St-Pierre is a Canadian ice hockey player. She is a three-time Olympic gold medallist and five-time IIHF world champion. She was announced as a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee on June 24, 2020. She was named to the Order of Hockey in Canada in 2022.
Colleen Kay Sostorics is a Canadian retired women's ice hockey defenseman. She played extensively for Canada at the international level, including three Olympic gold medals. At the Women's World Championships, Sostorics helped Canada to three gold and three silver medals, and at the 4 Nations Cup, she captured five gold medals and one silver medal. When not playing with Canada, she competed at the club level for the Calgary Oval X-Treme, in the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL).

Jill Orbinson is a former Ireland women's field hockey international. Between 1998 and 2007 she made 139 senior appearances for Ireland. She represented Ireland at the 2002 Women's Hockey World Cup. She also played senior club field hockey for Pegasus in the Women's Irish Hockey League.
Eric Calder is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played two games in the National Hockey League with the Washington Capitals, one game each in the 1981–82 as an eighteen year old and in 1982–83 seasons as a nineteen year old. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1982 to 1997, was spent in the minor leagues ( AHL, CIAU, and then in Europe. He was selected by the Capitals in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.
Laurelee Kopeck is a former field hockey defender from Canada, who earned a total number of 163 international caps for the Canadian National Team during her career. Nicknamed "Jumbo", she graduated from the University of Victoria (sociology/psychology) in 1996. Kopeck also played club hockey in Hamburg, Germany.
Sandra Elizabeth Levy is a former field hockey player, who represented Canada at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. The Toronto, Ontario native ended up in seventh place with the Canadian National Team in Barcelona, after having finished in sixth place four years earlier in Seoul, South Korea.
Kelly Paige Bechard is a women's ice hockey player. Bechard competed for Canada at the World Championships in 2000 and 2001. In 2002, she competed for Canada at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Born in Sedley, Saskatchewan, Bechard was also a provincial doubles badminton champion in High School.
U Sports men's ice hockey is the highest level of play of men's ice hockey at the university level and operates under the auspices of U Sports, Canada's governing body for university sports. As of the 2018 season, 48 teams from Canadian universities are divided into three athletic conferences, drawing from three regional associations of U Sports: Canada West Universities Athletic Association, Ontario University Athletics, and Atlantic University Sport. At the end of every season, eight teams compete for the David Johnston University Cup, awarded to the U Sports Men's Hockey Championship team.
Paul Clatney is a former Canadian football linebacker/defensive back who played six seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Calgary Stampeders, Ottawa Rough Riders and Toronto Argonauts. He was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the eighth round of the 1986 CFL Draft and spent parts of 2 seasons (1986–87) on their practise roster. He played CIS football at McMaster University.
Leslie Oles is a Canadian ice hockey player. She started played a professional hockey when she was 17, helping the player-run Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) start up. She was elected to the all-star team and in her second season helped the Montreal Stars win the Clarkson Cup. She later joined the interuniversity league while studying physical education at McGill University. She was a member of Canada's Under-18 Team and won a silver medal at the 2008 world championships.
