Gjern is a former railway town in central Denmark with a population of 1,529 (1 January 2024), [1] located in Silkeborg Municipality in Region Midtjylland in Jutland, Denmark.

The town is the site of Jysk Automobilmuseum, a large museum of automobiles. Gjern has also a ski resort called Dayz Søhøjlandet Alpint Skicenter. [2]

Rønne is the largest town on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. It has a population of 13,759. It was a municipality in its own right from 1970 until 2002, when Bornholm was a county. As of 2018 11,539 inhabitants live in Rønne Parish, which is a narrow piece of land on the westernmost of the island and stretching north and southward comprising around a third of the area of the former municipality. The Central Denmark Region, or more directly translated as the Central Jutland Region and sometimes simply Mid-Jutland, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform. The reform abolished the traditional counties (amter) and replaced them with five new administrative regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the total number of municipalities from 271 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favour of the local level and the national government in Copenhagen. The Central Denmark Region comprises 19 municipalities.

Jysk A/S is a Danish retail chain, selling household goods such as mattresses, furniture, and interior décor. Jysk is the largest Danish retailer operating internationally with over 3,100 stores in 51 countries. Jysk was founded by Lars Larsen, who opened the first store on Silkeborgvej in the Danish city of Aarhus in April 1979. It is owned by the founder Lars Larsen's family through the holding company Lars Larsen Group which also owns wholly or partly the furniture chains ILVA, IDÉmøbler, IDdesign, Bolia.com, and Sengespecialisten. The logo displays a goose, which has a historical thread to the brand. Due to the Scandinavian design for its products, it is also called the Danish IKEA in a small format.

JYSK park is a football stadium in Silkeborg, Denmark. The stadium is home to Silkeborg IF and Young Boys FD and has capacity for 10,000 spectators. The construction of JYSK Park began in 2015 and was completed in the summer of 2017. It was opened on July 31, 2017 for a match between Silkeborg IF and AGF, where the home team won 2–1 in front of 9,411 fans. Silkeborg IF’s Gustaf Nilsson became the first goal scorer in the stadium in a 2–1 win over AGF.
