Glaze (slang)

Last updated

In slang terms, glazing refers to someone who excessively praise someone, often to the point where it becomes annoying or is seen as unwarranted. [1] [2] The term originated in 2022 when people on TikTok started using it. [1] [3] [4] [5]

Use

In spring 2025, OpenAI introduced an update to ChatGPT which was perceived as making it annoyingly agreeable and flattering. This change was rolled back shortly thereafter, with Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, commenting that the model update "glazes too much". [6] [7] [8]
