Provinces are constituent political entities of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe currently has ten provinces, two of which are cities with provincial status. Zimbabwe is a unitary state, and its provinces exercise only the powers that the central government chooses to delegate. Provinces are divided into districts, which are divided into wards.
Mashonaland is a region in northeastern Zimbabwe. It is home to nearly half of the population of Zimbabwe. The majority of the Mashonaland people are from the Shona tribe while the Zezuru and Korekore dialects are most common. Harare is the largest city followed by Chitungwiza.
Dirk Peter Viljoen is a former cricketer who played 2 Tests and 53 One Day Internationals for Zimbabwe. An allrounder, Viljoen bowled slow left arm orthodox and batted in the middle order, left-handed. He won Zimbabwe's Young Cricketer of the Year Award in 1996–97 and was granted a scholarship to the Australian Cricket Academy.

The Logan Cup is the premier domestic first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe and is organised by Zimbabwe Cricket. It is named after James Douglas Logan.

The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare.
The Pro50 Championship, formerly known as the Faithwear Metbank One-Day Competition, Metbank Pro40 Championship, Faithwear Inter-Provincial Tournament, and Coca-Cola Metbank Pro50 Championship is the premier List A cricket tournament in Zimbabwe, organized by Zimbabwe Cricket. This tournament was started after the Zimbabwean cricket crisis, recommended by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It is jointly sponsored by Metbank and Coca-Cola.
The Zimbabwe national cricket team toured Pakistan from November to December 1993 and played in three cricket tests in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore and three One Day Internationals (ODI) at the same venues. The Zimbabwe team across the tour was captained by Andy Flower while for Pakistan it was Waqar Younis.

Langalibalele Ethan Dube is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who represented Matabeleland in Zimbabwean domestic cricket. He played as a right-arm fast bowler, but had his career cut short by knee and back injuries. After his retirement, Dube moved into sports administration, serving as chairman of the Matabeleland Cricket Association, as a selector for the Zimbabwean national team, and as a member of the government's Sports and Recreation Commission.
The 2016–17 Logan Cup was the 23rd edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe. It was held between December 2016 and May 2017. Mountaineers won the tournament, following a draw against Mashonaland Eagles in round 8 of the competition.
The 2016–17 Pro50 Championship was the fifteenth edition of the Pro50 Championship, a List A cricket tournament in Zimbabwe. The competition ran from 10 February to 6 June 2017. It was originally scheduled to start in May, but was brought forward to February in preparation for Zimbabwe's One Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan. The opening fixtures replaced the scheduled fixtures in the Logan Cup, which were rescheduled for later in the competition. The Pro50 Championship restarted late in May 2017, following the conclusion of the Logan Cup.

The tournament featured four teams, instead of the five that were scheduled to take part in the previous edition, with the Rising Stars being disbanded. There was no defending champion, as the previous edition of the tournament was cancelled.
The 2019–20 Logan Cup was the 26th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe. The tournament started on 12 December 2019, and was scheduled to finish on 16 February 2020. It featured five franchise teams, including a new team, the Rangers. Mountaineers were the defending champions.
The 2022–23 Logan Cup was the 29th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 24 November 2022. The tournament included twenty matches, eight games per team with the tournament concluding on 1 April 2023. The Matabeleland Tuskers were the defending champions. The tournament was won by the Mashonaland Eagles, which is the third time the team won since the introduction of franchise cricket.
Brooke Bruk-Jackson is a Zimbabwean model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023. She represented Zimbabwe at Miss Universe 2023.
