Glenn Maxfield George (born 30 September 1964) is a Welsh former rugby union international.
George was born in Newport and attended Lliswerry High School. [1]
A flanker, George began playing for Newport RFC in 1984-85 and was captain of the club for five seasons, which included Newport's 1990–91 Division One title, securing them promotion to the Premier Division. [2]
George earned a Wales call up for the 1991 Five Nations Championship campaign. He played in the matches against England and Scotland, as part of an inexperienced Wales back row, with Alun Carter also previously uncapped. [3]
Remaining with Newport until 1993, George went on to play with Rumney, Rhymney and Fleur de Lys. [4]

Arthur Joseph "Monkey" Gould was a Welsh international rugby union centre and fullback who was most associated as a club player with Newport Rugby Football Club. He won 27 caps for Wales, 18 as captain, and critics consider him the first superstar of Welsh rugby. A talented all-round player and champion sprinter, Gould could side-step and kick expertly with either foot. He never ceased practising to develop his fitness and skills, and on his death was described as "the most accomplished player of his generation".

Keith Jarrett is a Welsh former dual-code international rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played representative rugby union for the British Lions and for Wales, where he set point scoring records, and Monmouthshire, and at club level for Abertillery RFC, Newport RFC and London Welsh RFC, as a centre, i.e. number 12 or 13. The teenaged Jarrett made a memorable international debut for Wales against England in 1967, scoring 19 of Wales's 34 points. He also played representative rugby league for Wales, and at club level for Barrow.

Edwin Thomas Maynard known as Edwin Thomas or "Beddoe" Thomas was a Welsh international rugby union prop who played club rugby for Newport RFC. Thomas was part of the Wales team that won the Triple Crown in 1909, and faced all three major Southern Hemisphere teams; New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, for Newport.
Leonard Charles Trump was a Welsh international rugby union player, who later switched to professional rugby league. He played amateur club rugby predominantly for Newport, and played county rugby for Monmouthshire, and as a professional joined Hull Kingston Rovers.

Kevin Hopkins is a retired Welsh International rugby union player. He made seven appearances for his country, as well as representing Cardiff RFC, Swansea RFC and Neath RFC in the top division of Welsh club rugby, and played twice for the Barbarians invitational side. Following his retirement from playing, Hopkins has held numerous coaching positions.
William Justin Lloyd Thomas is a Welsh International rugby union player. He made nine appearances for the Wales national team, as well as representing Llanelli RFC Cardiff RFC, Newport RFC and Caerphilly RFC in the top division of Welsh club rugby.
