Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur (GKL) (previously known as Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre) [1] is a hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The hospital was funded in 1996, and commenced its operations on 1 August 1996. [1] [2] GKL is a subsidiary of Pantai Medical Centre Sdn Bhd, [1] [3] which is owned by IHH Healthcare, which owns three other Gleneagles hospitals in Malaysia.

Operation

It is often frequented by the rich and famous. In the 1990s it cost S$1,000 per night just for a bed. [4]

It won an award for Excellence in Customer Service at the 2015 International Medical Travel Journal Medical Travel Awards 2015 when Malaysia was Medical Travel Destination of the Year. [5]

The Society for the Sabah Heart Fund sponsors children's heart surgery at the hospital. [6]

Outreach

It supports the Pink Pit Stop Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, taking stalls to local shopping malls [7] and the government proposal to provide free nutritious breakfast for poorer children. [8]

Cardiologists from the hospital work voluntarily on a rota at the charitable Cardiac Diagnostic and Treatment Centre at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. [9]

New Annexe

In 2015, GKL has expanded its operational infrastructure by opening a new annexe. [10] The 9-storey building situated next to the main building. [11]

The Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd is a company that owns and operates the airport rail link of the same name that connects the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with the Kuala Lumpur Sentral transportation hub, 57 kilometres apart. The company operates two different train services:

The East Coast Expressway is an interstate controlled-access highway running parallel to the northeastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The currently operational 433-kilometre (269-mile) segment of the expressway runs between Karak, Pahang and Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.

Rawang Bypass, Federal Route 37 also known as Rawang–Serendah Highway, is a federally-funded divided highway bypass in Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia. The 10-km highway was opened to traffic on 28 November 2017 at 9.00 pm. Construction of the RM628mil Rawang Bypass began on 16 July 2005 and was completed on 21 November 2017. It features a 2.7-km elevated viaduct with its highest pillar of 58.2 meter. the highest of its kind in Malaysia.

The Exchange 106 is a skyscraper within the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) area, a new financial district currently being developed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 95-floor building is topped with a 65-metre (213 ft), 12-storey high illuminated crown making it 445 m (1,460 ft) tall. The tower will have a net lettable area of 2.6 million square feet and is benchmarked against similar buildings in large international financial centers, such as London's Canary Wharf and The Shard, New York's Freedom Tower, and Shanghai IFC.

Gleneagles Medical Centre Hospital in Penang, Malaysia

The Gleneagles Medical Centre is a 360-bed private hospital in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Founded in 1973 as the Penang Medical Centre, it was renamed after its acquisition by Parkway Pantai, a Singapore-based healthcare conglomerate. The hospital now consists of a 19-storey annexe, along with its original six-storey building.
