Gloria is a 2014 Mexican drama film directed by Christian Keller, based on the life of Mexican pop singer Gloria Trevi. It was one of fourteen films shortlisted by Mexico to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, [2] [3] but it lost out to 600 Miles . [4]

Plot

The film chronicles the life of one of Latin America's biggest pop icons, Gloria Trevi. The film opens with Gloria at an audition for the popular music composer, Sergio Andrade. She impresses Andrade and earns a spot as a member of the Mexican pop group Boquitas Pintadas. The group fails to achieve much fame, but Sergio notices Gloria's potential as a solo artist, and grooms her as such from then on. Gloria quickly becomes a huge success all over Latin America, but her career comes to a screeching halt when she is found in the middle of a controversial sex scandal.

Me siento tan sola is the third album by Mexican singer Gloria Trevi, originally released on July 23, 1992, by BMG Ariola. A limited edition titled I Feel So Alone was released a month later at a convention held by her record company, where it was awarded a Double Gold Record for its high sales. Trevi promoted the album in several countries, including Argentina, Chile, the United States, Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Central America. The album was particularly popular in Japan, where it sold approximately 100,000 copies. In 1992, Trevi traveled to Spain for the first time, where the album was certified Gold. She also managed to captivate Spanish audiences with her unique performances.

Una Rosa Blu is the seventh studio album by Mexican pop singer-songwriter Gloria Trevi, released by Univision Records on October 2, 2007 in Latin America and the United States. It was produced by Sergio George, Bob Benozzo and Armando Avila. This album sold over 2.000,000 copies. In the US, the album sold about 50,000 copies during the first day of release [4] 1 and later received gold and platinum certifications by the RIAA .2 In Mexico, it received Gold and Platinum certifications and reached fifth place in nationwide sales. Una Rosa Blu reached its highest position of number 3 on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums, within a few weeks of its release. In Spain it was one of the Top 100 best selling albums in 2009. Promotion of Una Rosa Blu was accompanied by five simple: Psicofonia, Cinco Minutos, Pruebamelo, El Favor De La Soledad and Lo Que Una Chica Por Amor Es Capaz which were published between 2007 and 2009. It was screened in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the award for Best First Feature. It was one of fourteen films shortlisted by Mexico to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. On 17 September 2015 it was selected to represent Mexico for the Foreign Language Oscar but it was not nominated.
