Gloria Sawai (20 December 1932 – 20 July 2011), born Gloria Ruth Ostrem in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was an American-born fiction author, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She died on 20 July 2011. [1]
In early childhood, she moved with her family to Saskatchewan, then in her youth to Alberta. Her father was a Lutheran minister. [2]

Mark S. Hanson is an American bishop who served as the third Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Before being elected presiding bishop, he served as bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod as well as pastor of three Minnesota congregations: Prince of Glory Lutheran Church, Minneapolis; Edina Community Lutheran Church; and University Lutheran Church of Hope in Minneapolis. In addition to serving as Presiding Bishop, Hanson was the 11th President of the Lutheran World Federation.

Highway 21 is a north–south highway in Alberta, Canada that parallels Highway 2 between Calgary and Edmonton. It is approximately 328 kilometres (204 mi) in length. It begins at the Trans-Canada Highway east of Strathmore, and ends at Fort Saskatchewan where it is succeeded by Highway 15. The northernmost 25 kilometres (16 mi) of the highway are twinned. Highway 21 runs roughly parallel to the main north–south CN rail line between Calgary and Edmonton between Three Hills and Looma.
Edna Alford is a Canadian author and editor. She was a graduate of Adam Bowden Collegiate, Saskatoon, and got scholarships to attend the Saskatchewan Summer School of the Arts. Some of her teachers include; Jack Hodgins, W. P. Kinsella, Rudy Wiebe, and Robert Kroetsch. She majored in English at the University of Saskatchewan, and worked summers at hospitals and nursing homes for the chronically ill. As a writer she is known for the collections "A Sleep Full of Dreams and The Garden of Eloise Loon". She has also won the Marian Engel Award and the Gerald Lampert Award. As an editor she co-founded the magazine Dandelion and edited fiction for Grain from 1985–1990. Edna was born to George and Edith Sample and was the second eldest of the children aside from brother Stanley. She also has brothers Lorne (deceased) and Gregory as well as a younger sister Beth. Edna is currently married to internationally known theoretical mathematician Richard Cushman.

Coteau Books was a small, non-profit literary press based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was established in 1975 by Bob Currie, Gary Hyland, Barbara Sapergia and Geoffrey Ursell when they realized that there was little opportunity for Saskatchewan writers to get published, especially first-time authors. The press closed its doors and entered bankruptcy protection in February 2020.

The NEOS Library Consortium consists of 17 Canadian university, college, government, and hospital libraries with 49 sites between them. Patrons belonging to any NEOS library have seamless access to most of the substantial holdings shared by NEOS members. As of March 31, 2009, NEOS holdings were 10,867,551 volumes. Augustana Lutheran Church is a church in the Elliot Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, built in the Gothic Revival style. Architect William H. Dennis built the church in 1883. The church building, located 704 11th Ave. S., was home to many Scandinavian parishioners in the early decades of existence. The church initially served a large immigrant population in the city of Minneapolis, and the congregation often heard from pastors who traveled from Sweden and Norway. As the downtown population changed, the church congregants also shifted. By the 1960s, many Lutherans attended newer churches in suburban Twin Cities neighborhoods. By 2014, the church had fewer than 100 members, who sold the building.
