Gloryhammer is a British power metal band founded by keyboardist Christopher Bowes, lead vocalist of the band Alestorm. [1] Each member of the band represents a character in the story concept. [2] [3] Band members appears on stage in armour and costumes to represent their respective characters.
Gloryhammer released their debut album Tales from the Kingdom of Fife through Napalm Records on 29 March, 2013. [4] Prior to the release of the album, the single "Angus McFife" was released through the Napalm's YouTube channel on 7 March 2013. [5] [6]
The band released videos on Napalm's channel for "Universe on Fire" on 8 August 2015 [7] and "Rise of The Chaos Wizards" on 11 September 2015. [8] [9] On the 25 September, 2015, Gloryhammer released their second studio album titled Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards with which the band entered the official album charts in several countries, followed by tours with bands such as Stratovarius, Blind Guardian and HammerFall.
On 16 May 2017, Gloryhammer was nominated as best band in the category "Up & Coming" of the Metal Hammer Awards 2017 by the German edition of international music magazine Metal Hammer. [10] In 2018, the band was nominated again in the same category. [11]
In January 2018, the band did a headlining tour across Europe, consisting of 24 shows in a row. [12]
In September 2018, they toured with Alestorm through North America for the first time, playing 19 shows in the USA and Canada. [13]
On 30 January 2019, the band's official Facebook page announced the album Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex , [14] which was released on 31 May 2019. The band released two singles, "Gloryhammer" on 12 April 2019 and "The Siege of Dunkeld (In Hoots We Trust)" on 10 May 2019, through the Napalm YouTube. [15] [16]
Following the album's release was the band's first North American tour as headliners in June with Æther Realm as support. [17]
On 22 August 2021, Gloryhammer announced that Thomas Winkler had left the band. [18] Winkler addressed the situation, stating he was fired via an email that cited the band's reasons for his departure as disagreements on business and organizational matters. [19] Shortly after, [20] a Twitter account named "GloryhammerC" posted screenshots of what appeared to be an internal chat from 2017 between the members of the group that showed misogynist and racist humour along with several racial slurs. At the same time allegations of domestic violence committed by James Cartwright also surfaced. Bassist Vincent Jackson Jones, who collaborated with Gloryhammer keyboardist Chris Bowes in the band Wizardthrone, released a statement on 26 August 2021 distancing himself professionally from Bowes and urging Bowes to make his own statement; at the time, none of Gloryhammer's members had made public comments on the issue. [21] On 5 September 2021, Bowes and the rest of the band released statements, admitting the leaked chat was true and apologizing for the controversial remarks. However they also stated that the claims regarding Cartwright and the alleged abuse were false. [22]
In December 2021, Sozos Michael was introduced as the new singer of the band. [23] They released their first single with Michael as lead singer, titled "Fly Away", on 28 April 2022. [24] On 14 March 2023, the fourth studio album, Return to the Kingdom of Fife, was announced and later released on 2 June 2023. [25] The band released three singles in support of the album: "Keeper of the Celestial Flame of Abernethy", [26] "Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost" [27] and "Wasteland Warrior Hoots Patrol". HammerFall is a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg. The band was formed in 1993 by ex-Ceremonial Oath guitarist Oscar Dronjak.

Alestorm are a Scottish heavy metal band formed in Perth, Scotland in 2004. Their music is characterised by a pirate theme, and as a result, they have been dubbed a "pirate metal" band by many critics and their fanbase. The group currently consists of lead vocalist/keytarist Christopher Bowes, bassist Gareth Murdock, drummer Peter Alcorn, keyboardist/harsh vocalist Elliot Vernon and guitarist Máté "Bobo" Bodor.
Black Sails at Midnight is the second studio album by Scottish heavy metal band Alestorm. As with their first album, all the drums tracks were recorded by session drummer Migo Wagner but touring drummer Ian Wilson added additional percussion. The album features string and brass arrangements and folk instruments as opposed to the more heavy metal instrumentation of Captain Morgan's Revenge. The special edition of the album included a live DVD of the band's performance at the 2008 Wacken Festival.

Thomas Laszlo Winkler is a Swiss singer. He is known for being the vocalist of power metal band Angus McSix and former vocalist of power metal band Gloryhammer from 2011 to 2021, playing the roles of "Angus McFife, Prince of the Land of Fife" and his descendant "Angus McFife XIII" in the band's internal story.

Their name is a pun on the metal bands Manowar and Rhapsody of Fire, and represents their tendency to satirize "true metal", the primary focus of their music. The deluxe edition contains an additional disc of orchestral renditions of the full album, with alternate titles. It reached number 18 in the UK Rock & Metal Charts.
The Sacrament of Sin is the seventh studio album by German power metal band Powerwolf, released on 20 July 2018 by Napalm Records. The band wrote it during 2017 and began recording it in January 2018 at the Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. It was Jens Bogren's first production work for Powerwolf. Joost van den Broek assisted the band with orchestras. Musically, the album is different than previous recordings. The expression of the organ has changed, the orchestra has been added and unusual elements such as bagpipes or flute and the band recorded a ballad accompanied by the piano for the first time in its history. The main theme of the album from the point of view of lyrics is sin, but it is not a concept album.
