Gmina Iława is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Iława County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Iława, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina.
The gmina is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. As of 2010 there were 2,478 gminy throughout the country. The word gmina derives from the German word Gemeinde, meaning "community".
Iława County is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, northern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Iława, which lies 65 kilometres (40 mi) west of the regional capital Olsztyn. The county contains four other towns: Lubawa, 34 km (21 mi) south of Iława, Susz, 21 km (13 mi) north-west of Iława, Kisielice, 21 km (13 mi) west of Iława, and Zalewo, 28 km (17 mi) north of Iława.
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship or Warmia-Masuria Province or Warmia-Mazury Province, is a voivodeship (province) in northeastern Poland. Its capital and largest city is Olsztyn. The voivodeship has an area of 24,192 km2 (9,341 sq mi) and a population of 1,427,091.

The gmina covers an area of 423.55 square kilometres (163.5 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 11,828.
The gmina contains part of the protected area called Iława Lake District Landscape Park.
Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural, ecological or cultural values. There are several kinds of protected areas, which vary by level of protection depending on the enabling laws of each country or the regulations of the international organizations involved.
Iława Lake District Landscape Park or Iława Lakeland Scenic Park is a protected area in northern Poland. Established in 1993, the park is part of the geographic region called Pojezierze Iławskie. It includes Jeziorak lake and the Lasy Iławskie spread out on the west side of Jeziorak. It covers the area of 250.45 square kilometres (96.70 sq mi).
