GoVolta Exploitation B.V. is a Dutch railway company that will offer international train services between Amsterdam and several German cities starting in March 2026. The company distinguishes itself from NS International by offering budget fares, with surcharges for large luggage. [1]
The first German destinations that GoVolta will serve from Amsterdam are Berlin and Hamburg. The connection to Berlin takes longer than that of NS/Deutsche Bahn. Until now, there was no direct train connection between Amsterdam and Hamburg, and the GoVolta journey takes about the same time as with NS/DB including a transfer. Currently, three trains per week to both cities are planned. There are also plans for a train connection between Amsterdam and Paris. [2]
GoVolta is using i10 class carriages purchased from the National Railway Company of Belgium. They are pulled by a Siemens Vectron locomotive. There are two passenger classes, Economy and Comfort, and there is a dining car. The trains depart early in the morning from Amsterdam and return late in the evening. GoVolta works together with Keolis Nederland for staffing, operational planning, and the daily operation of the services. Keolis is a daughter company of SNCF and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. [3]
