Gold is a French music band from Toulouse, which enjoyed considerable success in the Francophone world in the 1980s.

History

Gold was originally composed of five musicians : Lucien Crémadès (guitar, vocals), Alain Llorca (bass, vocals), Bernard Mazauric (keyboards), Etienne Salvador (drums) and lead singer/guitarist Emile Wandelmer. [1]

The group first rose to prominence with the 1985 release of "Plus près des étoiles", and continued to impact on the French pop charts with songs including "Capitaine abandonné" (n°1 in 1986), [2] "Ville de lumière" and "Laissez-nous chanter". Wandelmer left the group in 1990, going on to join Images eight years later, [3] although the remaining members of Gold continued recording.

Gold is one of the only French groups to have made France's SNEP Top 10 five consecutive times between 1985 and 1987. [4]

It was the lead single from the band's second studio album Capitaine abandonné on which it features in an extended version as first track. Les Avions was a French pop rock band formed in 1980 in Paris by Jean-Pierre Morgand. Jean-Pierre played vocals and guitar and was born on January 7, 1959., Jean Nakache and Jérôme Lambert (drums). The keyboardist Sylvain Pauchard also greatly contributed to Les Avions'albums for the arrangements and programming. The group disbanded in 1997 after an ultimate concert in Moscow on the occasion of the festival named 'Les Allumées'. David et Jonathan was a 1980s vocal duet composed of David Marouani and Jonathan Bermudes. Images was a French pop band that existed from 1986 to 1999 and then burst into the formation Émile et Images. The founders, Mario Ramsamy, Jean-Louis Pujade and Richard Seff; came from Toulouse, Occitania. Their biggest hit was "Les Démons de minuit" (1986), which was 13 weeks at number 1 on the charts in France."Les démons de minuit", is a very popular song, still to this day, in rock dancing; in french galas.

Jean-Pierre Vincent was a French theatrical actor and director.
