Gold Pants is the debut and only studio album by American pop music group Leslie and the LY's, released to iTunes on March 11, 2005. [3] and released in CD format on March 15, 2005. [4] The record serves as front-woman Leslie Hall's first musical project after she became known on the internet for her gem sweater website. Hall then enlisted school friends to form the band. After performing several of the songs at open mic events, the group recorded and released the record. [5]

Contents

Despite not entering any international record charts, the album did receive much internet attention and viral success. [6] Hall promoted the record with a TV appearance on Unscrewed with Martin Sargent, accompanied with a live performance. [7] The album was supported by the release of two singles. "Gem Sweater" was released as the lead single from the record, and experienced viral success on YouTube. "Gold Pants" was released as the second single and was supported by a five-track EP with American hip hop recording artist Arecee. Gold Pants serves as the only release by the group, as Hall released all of her other musical projects as a musical artist.

Gold Pants is a primarily electronic [5] [3] [8] album, with influences of pop, [5] hip hop, [8] [9] and house music. [8] The album was produced using GarageBand. [10] Jason Sellards of Paper Magazine described the album as "chock-full of catchy jams and horrifying piano ballads." [6]

The Neighbourhood is an American rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Alexander Fried. After releasing two EPs, I'm Sorry... and Thank You, The Neighbourhood released its first full-length album I Love You. on April 23, 2013, via Columbia Records. Tera Melos American math rock band

Tera Melos is an American math rock band from Sacramento, California formed in 2004. They incorporate many styles of rock, ambient electronics and unconventional song structures. They are currently a three-piece, consisting of guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Nick Reinhart and bassist Nathan Latona, as well as drummer John Clardy who joined the group in 2008. Tera Melos play a brand of music characterized by quickly alternating rhythmic patterns, start-stop dynamics, improvisation, two-handed tapping on the guitar, extended open-ended bridges, and the use of effect pedals and samplers. Though the band has typically eschewed the label of math rock, they are considered recent innovators of the genre.
