Golyan Group holds survey licenses for 900 MW of combined hydro and solar power. 14 projects are at different stages with a forecast of generating 900 MW of electricity by 2030. [11] The projects include Elevate Energy Pvt. Ltd and Apollo Energy Pvt. Ltd consisting of the 135 MW Namlan Khola Hydropower Project and 306 MW Upper Mugu Karnali Hydropower Project. [12] Both of these projects recently received a technical assistance grant from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. [13] [14]
In addition, Pure Energy Pvt. Ltd has developed and commissioned 20 MW (10 MW + 10 MW) solar power plant in Nepalgunj (Banke), making it the largest solar power plant operated by a private enterprise. [15] [16]
In a significant step towards expanding renewable energy in Nepal, Golyan Power recently entered into a joint venture agreement with Prozeal Green Energy to collaborate on solar power projects across the country, further cementing its commitment to sustainable energy solutions. [17]
Reliance Spinning Mills Ltd. (RSML) is a public limited company established in 1994 AD and is the largest spinning mills in Nepal with an investment of NPR. 15.5 Billion. [20] [21]
Relinace Spinning Mills Ltd. is a market leader of Nepal in yarn exports. [22] The company operates two factories: Unit A located at Khanar, Sunsari, and Unit B located at Duhabi, Sunsari, Nepal. RSML engages in manufacturing Polyester, Viscose, and Acrylic, and their various blends in grey, dyed, melange yarn & DTV yarns. RSML's installed capacity of 79,824 ring spindles & 960 vortex spindles (Equivalent to 19,200 ring spindles) makes the factory capable of producing 40,680 tons of yarn annually. The company also completed the expansion of 1,440 vortex spindles (Equivalent to 28.800 ring spindles) and an open end plant & additional TFO twisters for making the factory capable of producing an additional 8,280 tons annually. After this recent commissioning of two new production lines in June 2023, the Company's installed capacity brings the total production to 120MT/day. [24]

Shivam is a manufacturing unit within the Golyan Group, specializing in propylene-based woven fabric production. Established in 2000, Shivam Plastic Industries Pvt. Ltd. is a manufacturer of Polypropylene woven fabric and HDPE woven tarpaulin fabric. Its products are sold both in the domestic market and exported, primarily to India. It has an annual production capacity of 10,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA). Shivam is a joint venture of the Golyan family (Golyan Group) and the Agarwal family. [33]
Shivam Plastics was started in 1998, it is one of the manufacturers of HDPE/PP woven fabrics in Nepal. It has three tapelines (lorex1000, lorex1200, and lorex1400). [34]
Golyan Group has diversified its investment in the Agriculture sector through Golyan Agro, the agricultural wing, Golyan Agro has established its own brand and supply chain for the agricultural goods it produces, selling them under the brand "Mato". [35]
The Golyan Group expanded its investments into the agriculture sector with a total investment of approximately Rs 1.5 billion. Golyan Agro, a subsidiary of the group, invested Rs. 400 million to plant lemon, papaya, watermelon, and mango trees in the Madargachha, Chakchake, and Gherabari areas of the district for farming purposes. Under the brand Mato, Golyan Agro supplies organic farm produce at affordable rates in the market. What began as a CSR initiative in Rangpur, Jhapa has grown to become a successful business model of perennial farming encompassing nearly 1,000 farmers from 25 villages. For the collection of farm produce and market management, the Golyan Group has been collaborating with the Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Nepal (WEAN) in Jhapa.
Golyan Group has 300 bighas for commercial farming in different locations of Jhapa. Golyan Agro produces paddy and fruits including strawberry, lemon, watermelon, dragon fruit, papaya ,and seasonal vegetables. Similarly, the company also produces the local rice breed ‘Kalanamak’ in 190 bighas in Jhapa and Bardia districts collaborating with the local farmers. [40]

NHPC Limited is an Indian public sector hydropower company that was incorporated in 1975 to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power. Recently it has expanded to include other sources of energy like solar, geothermal, tidal, and wind.

The Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project is a 456 MW peaking run-of-the-river hydroelectric project in Nepal. It is the largest hydroelectric project in Nepal, operating since July 2021. It is sited on the Tamakoshi River, a tributary of the Sapt Koshi river, near the Nepal–Tibet border.

Koshi Province is the autonomous easternmost province adopted by the Constitution of Nepal on 20 September 2015. Shakti Sthala, also called Pavagada Solar Park is a solar park covering an area of 53 square kilometres in Pavagada taluk, Tumkur district, Karnataka. Completed in 2019, the park has a capacity of 2,050 MW. As of April 2021, it is the world's third largest photovoltaic solar park after the 2,245 MW Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan and 2,200 MW Huanghe Hydropower Hainan Solar Park in China. It is the second largest in India.The total project cost was ₹14,800 crore.
Nuwakot Solar Power Station is located at Nuwakot District of Nepal. It is the largest solar power plant of Nepal. The plant is owned by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The solar panels are installed in six locations within the premises of Devighat Hydropower Station which is also owned by the NEA. Energy generated by the project is connected to the 66 kV sub-station of Devighat Hydropower Station. The solar station generates energy only during the daytime.
Nepal Bureau of Standards & Metrology (NBSM) is a department under the Ministry of Industry, Nepal. The department was established in 1976 based on the Industrial policy (1974) with an aim to regulate and improve the quality of industrial production. The initial name of the department was Nepal Institute of Standards (NIS). In 1981, with the promulgation of the Nepal Standards Act 2037 and Rules 2040 were, it was renamed into Nepal Bureau of Standards (NBS). Later, in 1986 the metrology section was added. In 1988 Department of Weights and Measures of Ministry of Finance was also merged with Nepal Bureau of Standards and was restructured into Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology.
Micro hydropower to generate electricity in Nepal started with Pharping plant with an installed capacity of 500 kW in 1911 followed by Sundarijal and Panauti, in 1936 and 1965 respectively. Up to 1980, the focus was laid primarily on large-scale power generation through large hydro and thermal means, the micro-hydro potential remained untapped. In the first four years (1981–1985), the government started subsidising the micro-hydro plants. The number of plants has been increasing thereafter. Most of these plants are off-grid isolated plants serving for local villages. In 2000, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre was formed to look after the micro-hydropower in Nepal. It defined the plants in the range of 10-100 kW as micro hydropower. As of 2018, about 3000 microhydro projects have been installed contributing about 35 MW.
Butwal Solar PV Project is located at Rupandehi District of Lumbini Province, Nepal. The plant is owned and run by Ridi Hydropower Development Company Ltd, an IPP. The plant came in operation in October 2020.
Daraundi A Hydropower Station is a 6 MW run-of-river hydro-electric plant located on the Daraundi River in the Gorkha District of Nepal.
Daram Khola-A Hydropower Station is a run-of-the-river hydroelectricity plant located in Baglung District of Nepal. The flow from Daram River is used to generate 2.5 MW electricity.
Kabeli B1 Hydropower Station is a 25 MW run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Panchthar District of Nepal. The promoter and operator, with a 20% share, is Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL), a subsidiary of Arun Valley Group.
Puwa Khola-1 Hydropower Station is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Ilam District of Nepal. The flow from Puwa River, a tributary of Mai River is used to generate 4 MW electricity.
Bagmati Nadi Hydropower Station is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Makawanpur District of Nepal. The flow from Bagmati River is used to generate 22 MW electricity.
Upper Mardi Hydropower Station is a run-of-river hydro-electric plant located in Kaski District of Nepal. The flow from Mardi River, a tributary of Gandaki River, is used to generate 7 MW electricity. The design flow is 2.60 m3/s and design gross head is 335 m.

SJVN, formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, is an Indian public sector undertaking in the Navratna Category which is involved in hydroelectric power generation and transmission. It was incorporated in 1988 as Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The company has a total operating hydropower capacity of 1972 MW through its three hydropower plants—Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur and Naitwar Mori. In addition, it has an installed capacity of 97.6 MW of wind power and 396.9 MW of solar power.
