Gomasta Prasad Soren was a Santhali writer, social worker and educator. [1] Akhara Thau was his first notable publication in 1965. Kahis Aarang (pathetic voice), Nonkan geyabon hor (We Santals are like this), Nonkan getabon Samaj (Our society is like this) are few of his notable works. [2]

Career

Soren was born at Udalboni village near Bandwan. His father's name is Gobinda Soren. He started work as Primary School teacher at Madhupur in Purulia district in 1961. His first book, a collection of songs, Hor Sereng Puthi was published in 1960. From 1981 he edited Pondgoda literary magazine.[ citation needed ] Soren became a member of Adibasi Socio Educational and Cultural Association and also worked with Akhil Bhartiya Jharkhand Party. [3] He engaged with various social work for the Adivasi people with activist Sarada Prasad Kisku.

Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who thrice served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand, first in 2005 for 10 days, then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He was sworn in as the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 30 December 2009 after winning the Jharkhand Assembly elections. He resigned on 30 May 2010 after failing to obtain coalition support from the Bharatiya Janata Party, his national party partner. He previously represented the Dumka constituency of Jharkhand in the 14th Lok Sabha, and is the President of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) political party, a constituent of the UPA.
