Gombe-Matadi is a community in Kongo Central Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Kinshasa, formerly Léopoldville, is the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Once a site of fishing and trading villages situated along the Congo River, Kinshasa is now one of the world's fastest growing megacities.
Matadi is the chief sea port of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the capital of the Kongo Central province, adjacent to the border with Angola. It had a population of 245,862 (2004). He is best known for his role as leader of the band, Le Grand Kallé et l'African Jazz, in which capacity he was involved in a number of noted songs, including Indépendance Cha Cha.

Gaarudi Gombe is a folk dance prevalent in the state of Karnataka, India. Dancers adorn themselves with giant doll-suits made of bamboo sticks. The term Gaarudi-Gombe means magical-doll in the native language, Kannada. This dance is performed during major festivals and also in the procession held during the festivities of Mysore Dasara. This dance is also known as Tattiraya in the coastal districts of Karnataka. The term Tattiraya means a person carrying a doll made of bamboo sticks.

The Académie des Beaux-Arts (ABA) is a school in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The school is devoted to teaching the arts, and was founded in 1943 as the École Saint-Luc à Gombe Matadi by Belgian catholic missionary Marc Wallenda. In 1949 the school moved to present-day Kinshasa and in 1957 it was renamed as the Académie des Beaux-Arts. During the education reforms of 1981 the school was integrated into the national technical university system.
Gombe State University (GSU) is located in Tudun Wada, an area in Shamaki Ward, Gombe State, Nigeria. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The state university has a Chancellor and 11-members of the governing council, as well as principal officers and management staff. Abdullahi Mahadi was the first vice chancellor of the university.
Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali is a Nigerian politician who was elected as Senator for the Gombe North senatorial district of Gombe State, Nigeria in August 2010 by-elections after the death of the incumbent Senator Kawu Peto Dukku. Manyanga was a staging post on the route from the coast to Léopoldville during the days of the Congo Free State. It was at the upper end of a navigable reach of the Congo River from Isangila, further downstream to the west. Above Manyanga goods had to be carried by land round the falls and rapids to Stanley Pool.
The 2023 Gombe State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Gombe State, concurrent with elections to the Gombe State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya is running for a second term and was renominated by his party.
The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Gombe State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Gombe State. Bulus Kilawangs Amos representing Gombe South, Mohammed Danjuma Goje representing Gombe Central and Sa'idu Ahmed Alkali representing Gombe North all won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.
