GoodLuck is a South African electronic music band. [1] The electronic group was first formed in 2011 by Ben Peters and Juliet Harding (both former jacSharp [2] band members), [3] GoodLuck are known for their blend of instrumentation with electronic dance music with an African edge. [4]

In 2015, GoodLuck won 'Best Pop' album at the South African Music Awards for their album The Creatures of the Night. GoodLuck have their own concert series (Get Lucky Summer), their own record label (Get Lucky Records) and GoodLuck Cares Foundation. Previous members include Raiven Hansmann and Matthew O'Connell.

May 2011: Support act for The Perfecto Featuring Paul Oakenfold Tour [7]

2013: GoodLuck recorded their second album, Creatures of the Night, in the Namibian desert using solar-powered technology [8] to record the album and natural 'found sounds' like the vocals of a zebra, [9] ocean sounds and using the Fish River Canyon to create sound delays. [10] This Might Sound Crazy [11] is a feature-length documentary of the recording process and was launched at Amsterdam Dance Event 2013. [12] Goodluck was invited to presented a master class at Amsterdam Dance Event about their recording and production process using abstract environmental sounds to produce a commercial album. [10]

May 2015: Opened for German DJ Robin Schultz's Sound of Light dance events in South Africa. [13]

September 2015: GoodLuck was selected to open for Pharrell Williams as a part of his world tour. [14]

October 2015: GoodLuck released their single, Back in the Day, with Dutch electronic music producer, De Hofnar. [15]

January 2016: Opened for British band Clean Bandit at Electric Summer in South Africa. [16]

April 2016: Support act for British band Jungle at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. [17]

March 2018: Performed as a headliner at Ultra South Africa. [18]

Johnson Barnes III, better known by his stage name Blu, is an American rapper and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his group Blu & Exile and their debut album Below the Heavens (2007). He is a forefront member of the California-based collective, Dirty Science. Blu is also co-CEO of New World Color, a label through which he has released many of his projects. He is recognized for his collaboration albums between him and various producers such as Exile, Mainframe, Ta'Raach, Bombay, Damu the Fudgemunk, Madlib, Nottz, and Union Analogtronics.

It was released on 5 January 2004 as the second single from their third studio album, Kish Kash, and reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart, number two on the US Hot Dance Club Play, and number 22 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. The song was nominated in the Best Dance Recording category at the 47th Grammy Awards.

The Halluci Nation, formerly known as A Tribe Called Red, is a Canadian electronic music group who blend instrumental hip hop, reggae, moombahton and dubstep-influenced dance music with elements of First Nations music, particularly vocal chanting and drumming. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the group consists of Tim "2oolman" Hill, and Ehren "Bear Witness" Thomas. Former members include co-founder DJ Jon Deck and Dan "DJ Shub" General, who left the band for personal reasons in spring 2014, and was replaced by Hill. Co-founder Ian "DJ NDN" Campeau left the band for health reasons in October 2017, with the band opting to remain a duo for the time being.

Kizz Daniel Nigerian singer-songwriter

Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is best known for his singles "Woju" and "Yeba". He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018. He signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, but left the label following a publicized contract dispute and court case. He founded the Fly Boy Inc record label in November 2017.

"U Don't Know Me" is a song written and produced by English electronic music duo Basement Jaxx. The Bellrays' lead singer Lisa Kekaula, who has previously appeared on Basement Jaxx's 2004 single "Good Luck", also co-wrote and contributed the song's main vocal. "U Don't Know Me" was described as a rock song with "kiss-off" lyrics that were similar to "Good Luck". On 13 June 2005 XL released the track as the second single from their greatest hits album The Singles. Later editions of the compilation replaced the album version with the "JaxxHouz Radio edit" which was also featured in the song's video.

Dacoury Dahi Natche, professionally known as DJ Dahi, is an American DJ, songwriter, record producer and singer from Inglewood, California. Dahi is perhaps best known for producing "Money Trees” by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, “Worst Behavior" by Canadian rapper Drake, and "I Don't Fuck with You" by American rapper Big Sean, which reached the top 20 of the US Hot 100 chart. Ultra South Africa Electronic music festival

Ultra South Africa is Africa's largest electronic music festival and is part of Ultra Music Festival's worldwide expansion which has now spread to twenty countries. Ultra South Africa is a single day event taking place in two cities. Having debuted in 2014, Ultra South Africa is one of the longest standing world editions of the festival. Ultra South Africa is a strictly 18 and over event.

Gqom '(Igqomu) is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010s from Durban, South Africa, pioneered largely by producer DJ Lag, Rudeboyz, Griffit Vigo, Dominowe and Citizen Boy. It was developed from kwaito, a subgenre of house music from South Africa. Unlike other South African electronic music, gqom is typified by minimal, raw and repetitive sound with heavy bass beats but without the four-on-the-floor rhythm pattern. Music connoisseurs who were pivotal in influencing the genre's international acclaim included the likes of South African rapper Okmalumkoolkat, Italian record label Gqom Oh owner, Malumz Kole inclusive of music taste-maker and public relations liaison, Cherish Lala Mankai, Afrotainment record label owner DJ Tira and Babes Wodumo.

Pascal & Pearce is a DJ and record producer duo from Cape Town, South Africa. The group was formed in 2007, and consists of Pascal Ellinas and Dave Pearce - not to be confused with BBC Radio DJ Dave Pearce.

<i>Faces to the Sun</i> 2016 studio album by Mango Groove

Faces to the Sun is the sixth studio album by South African Afropop band Mango Groove. Released in October 2016, Faces to the Sun is a double album with more than a dozen featured artists. The first disc comprises renditions of major South African pop songs. Lead singer Claire Johnston described the selections as "personal favourites of ours" that are about what it means to be South African. The second disc features eight original songs, plus a remix of Mango Groove's cover of "Durban Road".

Lwazi Asanda Gwala, better known as DJ Lag is a South African DJ and record producer. He is regarded as the pioneer of Gqom, a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010s in Durban, South Africa. In 2019, DJ Lag notably collaborated with Tierra Whack, Beyoncé, Moonchild Sanelly, Nija, Yemi Alade, and Busiswa on a track called "My Power" on Beyoncé's album, The Lion King: The Gift.

Nomcebo Nothule Zikode, is a South African singer and songwriter. Born in Hammarsdale, Zikode was a backing singer for several years. She has collaborated with DJ Ganyani on their hit single "Emazulwini" (2018).
