David Warren Ellefson is an American bassist, co-founder and second-longest serving member of the American heavy metal band Megadeth from 1983 to 2002 and again from 2010. He has also been referred to as "Junior" to differentiate him from his bandmate Dave Mustaine, but does not go by this name professionally. Ellefson currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona. In addition to playing bass guitar in Megadeth, Ellefson also has various side projects which include Temple of Brutality, F5, Killing Machine and Metal Allegiance.
Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current lineup has been the same since 2001: lead vocalist and guitarist Mille Petrozza, bassist Christian Giesler, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, and guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö. The band's lineup has changed multiple times over its 37-year career, leaving Petrozza as only constant member. Reil is the other original member left in Kreator though he had a hiatus from the band, which lasted from 1994 to 1996.

Founded in 2006 by Bozeman and Savage, the band has released seven studio albums, fourteen music videos and are currently signed to Metal Blade Records. All of its musicians have been in other bands, such as Bleed the Sky, Living Sacrifice, Chimaira, Time Spent Burning, The Elite, and Once to Die. The band's name means "Only God", which vocalist Jey Collins says is personal to him. Other band members have their own personal beliefs. However, Solus Deus does not claim to be a religious band. In 2016, the band signed to EMP Underground, and Imprint of Dave Ellefson's (Megadeth) label, EMP Label Group, who have a distributing deal through eOne.

Emo rap is a fusion genre of hip hop and emo that originated in the SoundCloud rap scene in the mid-late 2010s. The genre fuses characteristics of hip hop music, such as beats and rapping, with the lyrical themes and vocals commonly found in emo music. The genre also takes influence from genres of rock such as indie rock, pop punk and nu metal aswell as hip hop elements from trap music, cloud rap and alternative hip hop. The term is sometimes conflated with “SoundCloud rap".
