Krishnan Gopi (also known as Krish) is an Indian-origin technology executive. [1] [2] He is the Group Chief Disruption Officer & CEO of TMRW at GEMS Education. [3] [2]
Krish has implemented transformative technology for several organizations including Citigroup, Fidelity Investments, First Gulf Bank, BankMuscat International, Qatar Islamic Bank, Al Hilal Bank and GEMS Education. [4] [5]
His work has involved the implementation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies across various industries. He has been involved in leveraging technology as a business enabler, creating alternate revenue streams and modernizing organizations through AI-driven digital initiatives. [3] [5]
Krish was born and raised in Ambasamudram in Tamil Nadu, India. [4]
Krish studied at St Xavier's College, Palayamkottai. He has an advanced diploma in Technology and Information Systems and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business from the Indian Institute of Modern Management (IIMM).
Krish is an alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston where he earned his Executive MBA. [6] He is also a certified Board Director, holding credentials such as NACD.DC from the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) [7] and a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), UK. He started his career as a tech entrepreneur, having built & successfully exited two product companies. Then he moved on to work in organizations like Citigroup and Fidelity Investments. [4]
In 2006, Krish took up management roles in the First Gulf Bank. He later worked for BankMuscat International. [1] In 2012, Krish joined Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) as group Chief Information Officer (CIO). [9] In 2016–2017, he was the Chief Information Officer/ Chief Digital Officer of the Al Hilal Bank in UAE. After working in BFSI sectors Krish took up the role of Group Chief Disruption Officer & CEO – TMRW [11] at GEMS Education [12] [13] While at GEMS, he led them in creating Technology IP suite [14] including the LearnOS platform, a Super App for K12 Education across multiple curricula, regions, languages and learning methods. In 2024, GEMS filed a U.S. patent for ANET (Advanced Neural Engine for Tomorrow), an AI neural engine for which Krish had won the “Innovation in Education” award at the GESS Education Awards 2023. [15] [16] [17]
Krish was recognized as the "Digital Disruptive Leader of the Year" by MIT Sloan / Khaleej Times at DIGITRANS in 2018 and 2019. [18] [19] In 2020, he received the DX Inspire Award from the Global CIO Forum, recognizing him as one of the Top 15 Transformation Leaders across industries.
