Gordon Flood (born 24 October 1940) is a Bermudan sailor who represented his country at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, as a crew member in the Soling. He, helmsman Richard Belvin and fellow sailor Raymond Pitman took 21st place. [2]

The Soling is an open keelboat that holds the World Sailing "International class" status. The class was used from the 1972 Olympics until the 2000 Olympics as "Open three-person keelboat". Besides the Olympic career of the Soling the boat is used for international and local regattas as well as for recreational sailing. The Soling is managed by the International Soling Association under auspician of World Sailing since 1968.

David John Oliver Forbes OAM was an Australian sailor who competed for his country at three Olympics from 1968 to 1976. Forbes won an Olympic gold medal in the Star Class at Munich 1972 alongside John Anderson OAM. His sailing career spanned over 20 years and included a 5.5m World Championship in 1970, a Sydney to Hobart race in 1974, and ten Australian championships in the Star, 5.5m, Soling, and Etchells classes. He represented Australia at three Olympic Games – 1968 Mexico City, 1972 Munich, and 1976 Montreal, and was a member of two America’s Cup challenges. He was a part of the ‘Gretel II’ crew in the 1970 America’s Cup and was relief helmsman in the 1977 America’s Cup.

Valentin Alekseyevich Zamotaykin was a sailor from the Soviet Union. Zamotaykin represented his country at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Enoshima. Zamotaykin took 13th place in the 5.5 Metre with Konstantin Aleksandrov (sailor) as helmsman and Konstantin Melgunov as fellow crew member. His second Olympic appearance was during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Kiel. Zamotaykin took 7th place in the Soling with Timir Pinegin as helmsman and Rais Galimov as fellow crew member. In 1976 Zamotaykin returned to the Olympics. This time with helmsmen Boris Budnikov and fellow crew member Nikolay Poliakov Zamotaykin took 4th place in Kingston again in the Soling.

Denis O'Neil is a sailor from Australia. O'Neil represented his country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Kiel. O'Neil took 16th place in the Soling with Robert Miller as helmsman and Ken Berkeley as fellow crew member. In 1975, O'Neil was part of the winning Soling team in the North American Championship and that same year, won the pre Olympic Regatta at Kingston. At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, he crewed in the Australian boat which finished eleventh in the soling class.
