Y Wladfa ; also occasionally Y Wladychfa Gymreig was a partly successful Welsh settlement in Argentina, which began in 1865 and occurred mainly along the coast of Chubut Province in Patagonia.

Chubut is a province in southern Argentina, situated between the 42nd parallel south, the 46th parallel south, the Andes range to the west, and the Atlantic ocean to the east. The province's name derives from the Tehuelche word chupat, meaning "transparent," their description of the Chubut River.

Florentino Ameghino was an Argentine naturalist, paleontologist, anthropologist and zoologist, whose fossil discoveries on the Argentine Pampas, especially on Patagonia, rank with those made in the western United States during the late 19th century. Along with his two brothers –Carlos and Juan– Florentino Ameghino was one of the most important founding figures in South American paleontology.
Silvia Ester Giusti is a former Argentine Senator for Chubut Province. She is a member of the Argentine Justicialist Party.
Mario das Neves was an Argentine Justicialist Party politician. He was the governor of the Argentine province of Chubut.
Marcelo Alejandro Horacio Guinle was an Argentine Justicialist Party politician. He served as a Senator for Chubut Province and was the president of the Supreme Court of Chubut until his death.

Almirante Marcos A. Zar Airport is an airport in Trelew, Chubut Province, Argentina, named after the Argentine Navy Admiral and aviator Marcos Andrés Zar. The airport serves the cities of Trelew and Rawson.
Barcinosuchus is an extinct genus of carnivorous metasuchian from the early Cretaceous period. It is a peirosaurid which lived during the early Cretaceous period in what is now Chubut Province, Argentina. It is known from the holotype MPEF-PV 3095, which consists of skull, mandible, and postcranial remains. The specimen recovered from the lower part of the Cerro Castaño Member of the Cerro Barcino Formation. Barcinosuchus was named by Martín Leardi and Diego Pol in 2009 and the type species is Barcinosuchus gradilis.
Most Provinces of Argentina held executive and legislative elections during 2011, electing Governors and provincial legislatures. The only exceptions are Santiago del Estero Province, whose executive and legislative elections were elected in 2012; and Corrientes Province, whose governor election was elected in 2013.

On the 25 October elections numerous provinces also elected governors, with the new ones beginning their terms on 10 December 2015. These provinces were Buenos Aires province, Catamarca, Chubut, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Jujuy, La Pampa, Misiones, San Juan, San Luis and Santa Cruz, encompassing 11 of the country's 23 provinces. The other provinces elected governors in different days of 2015; the only exceptions were Corrientes and Santiago del Estero whose governors' terms were not due to finish in 2015.
