The Governor of Chaco (Spanish : Gobernador de la Provincia del Chaco) is a citizen of the Chaco Province, in Argentina, holding the office of governor for the corresponding period. The governor is elected alongside a vice-governor. The current governor of Chaco is Jorge Capitanich, since 10 December 2019; Capitanich previously held the post from 2007 to 2013 and from February to December 2015. [1]

The National University of the Chaco Austral is a very recently established national university located in Sáenz Peña, a city in the agrarian, central section of Chaco Province, Argentina. It was established in 2007 by an initiative of Governor Jorge Capitanich, and was included as part of a plan to geographically diversify Argentina's National University system; as such, its installations consist of the former local campus of the National University of the Northeast, notably the School of Agronomy and Forestry, and new additions.

He also previously served as mayor of Villa Ángela. On January 29, 2020 he was appointed Argentinian ambassador to Paraguay.
