The Samajwadi Party is a socialist political party in India,headquartered in New Delhi. It is mainly based in Uttar Pradesh,with significant presence in other states as well.With a secular and democratic ideology,the Samajwadi Party believes in creating a socialist society,which works on the principle of equality.In 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election party won 32.06% vote share with 111 seats,Vote share was highest since party formed.the party was able make government 3 times,with one time full majority since 2012 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.the party was fiveth largest party by vote share since 2019 general elections but it acquired less seats as compared to other parties.

The 2019 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh was held between 11 April and 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The election results were declared on 23 May which saw the BJP led Alliance winning majority of seats.
