Graeme Stapleton (born 1 February 1946) is a former international speedway rider from New Zealand. [1]
Stapleton competed in motocross in New Zealand in the 1960s and from mid 1967 to 1969 he lived in England and rode in motocross events in the UK and Europe. [2] After returning to New Zealand he won the New Zealand 250cc motocross championship. In November 1970 he began riding speedway at the Templeton track in Christchurch. [3] The following year he went to England and rode for the Canterbury Crusaders in the British League Division Two. He also made six appearances for the Wimbledon Dons in 1971 and was a member of the team for the next three years. In 1975 and 1976 he did not ride in the British League because he was in New Zealand helping his business partner Ronnie Moore after he had a serious accident. [4] Stapleton resumed riding in for Wimbledon in 1977 and 1978, and for the Newcastle Diamonds in 1978 and 1979. He also had two matches for the Hull Vikings in 1979. [5] [1]
Stapleton reached the final of the Speedway World Pairs Championship in the 1973 Speedway World Pairs Championship, [6] and represented New Zealand in other team events from 1972 to 1976.
When he returned to New Zealand, Stapleton continued to ride at the Ruapuna speedway track in Christchurch until 1982. After this he drove three quarter midget cars at the track for several seasons. [7]

Ivan Gerald Mauger was a New Zealand motorcycle speedway rider. He won a record six World Championships (Finals), a feat equalled only with the inclusion of the Speedway GP Championships by Tony Rickardsson of Sweden who won one World Final and five GP Championships. Mauger rode for several British teams – Wimbledon Dons, Newcastle Diamonds, Belle Vue Aces, Exeter Falcons, and the Hull Vikings. In 2010, Mauger was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements.
William Robert Sanders was an Australian international Speedway rider who won six Australian Championships and was a five time Speedway World Championship finalist with a career best second place in West Germany in 1983.
Philip John Crump in Mildura, Victoria is a retired Australian Motorcycle speedway rider who attained 3rd place in the 1976 World Championship. He also won the 1976 Speedway World Team Cup with Australia in the same year.
Ole Bjarne Olsen is a Danish former professional motorcycle speedway rider.
Ronald Leslie Moore was a New Zealand international speedway rider. He twice won the Individual World Speedway Championship, in 1954 and 1959.
Jack Ellis Young was a Motorcycle speedway rider who won the Speedway World Championship in 1951 and 1952. He also won the London Riders' Championship 1953 and 1954 and was a nine time South Australian Champion between 1948 and 1964.
Per Tommy Jansson was a motorcycle speedway rider. He was one of Sweden's most exciting speedway prospects in the 1970s but was killed in the Swedish Final a World Championship Qualifying Round meeting.
Larry Ross is a former speedway rider who rode with the Wimbledon Dons, Belle Vue Aces, Halifax Dukes and the Bradford Dukes in the British League.
Mitchell Owen (Mitch) Shirra is a former motorcycle speedway rider who rode with the Coventry Bees, Reading Racers, Swindon Robins and Ipswich Witches in the British League.

Franklin John Shuter was a New Zealand speedway rider who rode with, and was League Champion with each of the Swindon Robins, the Poole Pirates and the Exeter Falcons in the British League.
John Boulger is a former international motorcycle speedway rider. After he retired from riding Solos in the early 1980s, Boulger raced somewhat successfully in Speedcars (Midgets) from the mid-1980s until the mid-1990s. Boulger won a record nine South Australian Championships as well as two Australian Solo Championships during his career.
