Graham Richard Napier (born 6 January 1980) is an English former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. [1] Napier played first-class cricket for his home county of Essex since the outset of his senior career in 1997. Between 1997 and 1999 Napier played in four Youth Test matches in England against Zimbabwe,South Africa (twice) and Australia's respective under-19 teams. He was also a member of the 1998 Under-19 Cricket World Cup winning squad. Napier was on the books of Ipswich Town as a goalkeeper and played for a season on loan at Felixstowe Town. He retired at the end of the 2016 season.
Born in Colchester,Essex,Napier was a medium pace bowler,who was capable of reaching speeds between 85 mph-90 mph. [2] Napier has displayed a slower ball in Twenty20 games which proved hard to spot. As a batsman,Napier twice hit 16 sixes in an innings,once in a Twenty20 match,and once in a County Championship match.
In a Twenty20 cup match against Sussex on 24 June 2008,Napier scored 152 not out from 58 balls. The innings set a number of records,notably the highest individual score in a T20 innings in England,and in the domestic Twenty20 competition;the highest number of sixes in an individual Twenty20 innings (16);the most runs scored in boundaries in an individual Twenty20 innings (136 runs,scored as 10 fours,and 16 sixes). [3] It also broke the record for most sixes in a domestic one-day innings,and tied the record for most sixes in any domestic innings,tying the record set by Andrew Symonds,during a County Championship game in 1995.
Graham Napier has the record for the highest ever T20 score when batting at number 3 position.(152*). [4] Also he's in second in the list for scoring the most number of boundaries in a T20 innings.(26 boundaries-10 fours and 16 sixes) and also second in the list for hitting the most number of sixes in a T20 innings. [5]
He was signed by the Mumbai Indians for the 2009 IPL Season for an undisclosed amount.
In March 2009,Napier was called up to the England Lions squad for the first time since 2004. Geoff Miller,one of the selectors,said "the selectors felt this was a good opportunity for us to have a closer look at him within the England set-up". [6] On 1 May 2009,Napier was confirmed as a member of the 15-man England squad for the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup on the same day as he made his first appearance for the Mumbai Indians.
On 3 June 2013,Napier finished a YB40 match with figures of 7 wickets for 32 runs,including 3 maidens,taking 4 wickets in 4 balls as Essex beat Surrey by 178 runs. [7]
On 19 May 2011,Napier equalled the record for most sixes scored in a first-class innings. [8] He hit 16 sixes as part of a 130-ball 196 for Essex. It was his first first-class innings for 11 months,after being sidelined with a back injury. He hit 103 runs from the last 29 balls of his innings. After his innings,Napier told BBC Essex that he considers himself as mainly a bowler. On 22 June 2013,Napier took career best bowling figures of 7 wickets for 90 runs against Leicestershire.

Nicknamed "The Universe Boss",Gayle is widely regarded as the greatest batsman ever to have played Twenty20 cricket. He played a crucial role in the West Indies teams that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy,2012 ICC World Twenty20 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20.
Abdul Razzaq is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer,who played all formats of the game. Known as a gifted all-rounder,he was a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a right-handed batsman. He emerged in international cricket in 1996 with his One Day International debut against Zimbabwe at his home ground in Gaddafi Stadium,Lahore;just one month before his seventeenth birthday. He was part of the Pakistan Cricket squad that won the ICC World Twenty20 2009. He was a part of the Pakistan squad which finished as runners-up at the 1999 Cricket World Cup. He played 265 ODIs and 46 Tests.
Shane Robert Watson is an Australian cricket coach,commentator and former cricketer who played for and occasionally captained the Australian national cricket team between 2002 and 2016. He was an all-rounder who played as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He was ranked as the world's No. 1 all-rounder in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) for 150 weeks,including an all-time record of 120 consecutive weeks from 13 October 2011 to 30 January 2014. He began playing during the Australian team's golden era in the early 2000s,and was the last player from this era to retire. In his time playing for Australia,Watson was part of their winning squad in the Cricket World Cup two times in 2007,and 2015 along with the ICC Champions Trophy twice in 2006 and 2009,with Watson named as the player of the match in the final on both occasions,as he scored the winning run in the 2006 tournament,with the winning six in the 2009 tournament.
Essex County Cricket Club played their cricket during the 2005 season in Division Two of the County Championship and Division One of the Sunday League. They started the season 8–1 to win the Second Division Title,and were second in the Championship table at 9 May,but five matches without a win following that sent them down to fifth place at the Twenty20 break in June. They only intermittently broke into the top three after the Twenty20 break,and when they did their opponents behind them usually had a game in hand. They finished fifth,15.5 points behind the promotion spot,and with 36 bowling points they picked up the fewest in the entire Division Two. In the National League,however,they only lost once in sixteen games –against Gloucestershire Gladiators in August –and won the League on 28 August with three games to play. In the C&G Trophy,they went out to Lancashire at the second round stage,while they finished fifth in the group stage of the Twenty20 Cup,two points off a guaranteed quarter-final spot.
Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 2005 was the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire had been playing for one hundred and thirty-five years. They reached the semi-final in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy. In the County Championship,they finished ninth in the second division and in the National League,they finished sixth in the second division. They were eliminated at group level in the North section of the Twenty20 Cup.

Paul Andrew Nixon is an English cricket coach and former professional cricketer who played for Leicestershire,England,England A,Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Kent. He is a wicket-keeper and left-handed batsman. Nixon played in twenty international matches for the England cricket team,all within a four-month spell in 2007.

Timothy Grant Southee,is a New Zealand international cricketer who captains for New Zealand cricket team in all formats of the game. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a hard-hitting lower order batsman. The third New Zealand bowler to take 300 Test wickets,he was one of the country's youngest cricketers,debuting at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his Test debut against England he took 5 wickets and made 77 off 40 balls in the second innings. He plays for Northern Districts in the Plunket Shield,Ford Trophy and Super Smash as well as Northland in the Hawke Cup. He was named as New Zealand's captain for the first T20I against West Indies in place of Kane Williamson,who was rested for that game. The Blackcaps won that match by 47 runs. Southee was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. Southee currently has the highest (international) test batting strike rate among the batsmen with a minimum of 2000 test runs. His (batting) career strike rate is 83.12. He was also a part of the New Zealand squads to finish as runners-up in two Cricket World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019.
Luke Ronchi is a New Zealand-Australian cricket coach and a former cricketer. He represented both the Australia national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team in international cricket. Ronchi is the only player to have played for both Australia and New Zealand in cricketing history. He was also a part of the New Zealand squad to finish as runners-up at the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He played for Wellington in New Zealand domestic matches and has played Twenty20 matches for a range of sides. He retired from international cricket in June 2017.

He made his One Day International debut against India in August 2014 and his Test cricket debut against South Africa in December 2015. Hales is the first English batter to score a T20I century,and has the highest individual score of an English batter in the format with his 116 not out against Sri Lanka in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20. He is also the first batter to be dismissed for 99 in an ODI and a T20I. Hales was a key member of the England team that won the 2022 T20 World Cup. In August 2023 Hales announced his retirement from international cricket,focusing on domestic and franchise T20 cricket.
