The Grand Etang and Annandale Forest Reserves are contiguous protected areas located in the south central interior mountains of Grenada. Together they encompass the largest declared terrestrial protected area in Grenada followed by the Mount St. Catherine Forest Reserve. The Headwaters Forest Reserve is a group of old growth coast redwood groves in the Northern California coastal forests ecoregion near Humboldt Bay of the U.S. state of California. Comprising about 7,472 acres (30.24 km2), it is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as part of the National Landscape Conservation System.

Pristimantis euphronides is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Grenada, an island in the Lesser Antilles, the Caribbean. Is sometimes known as the Grenada frog. It was originally described as a subspecies of Eleutherodactylus urichi, but since 1994 it has been recognized as a full species.

Teton National Forest, in western Wyoming, was a United States national forest that would form a constituent part of the present-day Bridger-Teton National Forest. It was first established by the General Land Office on February 22, 1897 as the Teton Forest Reserve with 892,440 acres (3,611.6 km2). A commission was established in 1896 to plan for a system of national forest reserves, recommending an expansion of the territory protected by the Yellowstone Timberland Reserve. President Grover Cleveland's 1897 proclamation established a protected area encompassing the northern end of Jackson Hole, extending from the south boundary of the Yellowstone Forest Reserve south to the area of the Gros Ventre River, and from the Idaho border in the west to the area of the Continental Divide in the east. Much of this area would eventually be incorporated into Grand Teton National Park. In 1902 the southern porion of the Yellowstone reserve was added, while the Teton Reserve was greatly expanded to the south and east while excluding the southern portion of Jackson Hole around the town of Jackson.

The four MPAs together encompass 2.96 square miles (7.7 km2). The SMR protects all marine life within its boundaries. Fishing and take of all living marine resources is prohibited.
Grand Etang Lake is a crater lake in an extinct volcano which hasn't erupted in 12,000 years. It is located on the island of Grenada, in Saint Andrew Parish. The Grand Etang Lake is 530 m (1,740 ft) above sea level and it is one of the two crater lakes on the island. The lake is approximately 20 ft (6.1 m) deep and 36 acres (15 ha) in area and is also rumored to be home to a mermaid living in the depths that lure men to their watery grave.

Mount Brown Conservation Park is a protected area in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia. The park has established walking trails, including a section of the Heysen Trail. The park is managed by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources; entry is free. It is located 14 km (8.7 mi) south of Quorn and about 300 km (190 mi) north of the nearest airport at Adelaide.

The Mount St. Catherine Forest Reserve is the second largest declared terrestrial protected area in Grenada after the Grand Etang and Annandale Forest Reserves. Covering 934 ha within a 31.7 km (19.7 mi) boundary perimeter, its headwaters drain across seven of the largest watersheds on the island and supply important catchment basins for water distribution to Grenadians and agrarian landscapes downstream. The forest reserve encompasses the principal peak of the Mount Saint Catherine massif—the highest point on the island 840 m (2,760 ft), as well as other lushly forested ridges and lesser peaks, the highest waterfall in the country, the majority of the island's known hot springs, including the hottest geothermal spring and its most accessible geothermal bathing pool.
The Forêt d'Orient National Nature Reserve (RNN154) is a national nature reserve located in Champagne-Ardenne in the Grand Est region in France. Located within the Orient Forest Regional Natural Park, it was created in 2002 and protects 1,560 hectares of lake and forest areas.
The Étang de Biguglia is a shallow coastal lagoon in the department of Haute-Corse on the French island of Corsica. The lagoon and surrounding reed beds are the largest wetland in Corsica, and are protected as a nature reserve. They are an important breeding and wintering site for waterbirds, and for some rare aquatic species. Commercial fishing is allowed, but is managed to prevent damage to the ecology.
