Grande Ronde Hospital provides medical services in La Grande, Oregon, United States. Founded and opened in 1907 and re-opened at a new location in 1966, the non-profit hospital offers inpatient care as well as a broad range of diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic outpatient services. It has a family birthing center and provides home-care and hospice services. [1]

The hospital is the only one in Union County, which covers 2,038 square miles (5,280 km2) and has a population of more than 25,000. More than 700 people work at Grande Ronde Hospital. It is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and is a member of the American Small Hospital Association. [1]

Blue Mountains (Pacific Northwest)

The Blue Mountains are a mountain range in the western United States, located largely in northeastern Oregon and stretching into extreme southeastern Washington. The range has an area of about 15,000 square miles (38,850 km2), stretching east and southeast of Pendleton, Oregon, to the Snake River along the Oregon-Idaho border. The Blue Mountains cover eight counties across two states; they are Union, Umatilla, Grant, Baker, and Wallowa counties in Oregon, and Walla Walla, Columbia and Garfield counties in Washington. Langdon Lake

Orodell, also known as Oro Dell, is an unincorporated historic community in Union County, Oregon, United States, on the Grande Ronde River at the northwest edge of La Grande. It is considered a ghost town. Either Charles Fox or Stephen Coffin started the first sawmill in the Grande Ronde Valley there in the summer of 1862, after a joint-stock company between Coffin and other local settlers failed to materialize in 1861.
