Grayscale is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [2] [4] Formed in 2011, the group currently features lead vocalist Collin Walsh, lead guitarist and backup vocalist Andrew Kyne, rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist Dallas Molster and drummer Nick Veno. [5] The band formed from the Philadelphia pop punk scene, building a strong reputation and gaining steam among fans and music lovers. [6] On April 14, 2015 Grayscale released its first EP Change gaining much success. [6]
From 2017-2023, the band was signed to Fearless Records. They have released three studio albums through Fearless: Adornment (2017), Nella Vita (2019), and Umbra (2021).
On March 30, 2017, it was announced that Grayscale signed to Fearless Records and released their first single off the label titled "Atlantic". It was released alongside a music video. On April 14, 2017, it was announced that Grayscale would be releasing their debut album, Adornment, via Fearless, which included their single "Atlantic". They also released another single off the album, "Beautiful Things", which was released the same day as the album announcement.
On June 1, 2017, it was announced that Grayscale would contribute a song to Punk Goes Pop Vol. 7 , the newest installment of Fearless' Punk Goes... series. They covered pop singer Justin Bieber's hit song, "Love Yourself", for the album. The compilation was released on July 14, 2017, via Fearless Records. On July 19, 2017, Grayscale released a music video for their cover of "Love Yourself".
On February 12, 2018, the band released the music video for their song, "Forever Yours", through Billboard .
On March 17, 2019, Grayscale announced via their Twitter account that they had parted ways with drummer Nick Veno, citing "creative differences." [7] Veno later released a statement on his own account providing his view of the situation, which differed from the band's previous statement. [8] The band clarified that Veno would finish out playing the band's remaining tour dates with them and that more details on his departure would be released the following day. It turned out to later be a prank toward the release of a new music video for the song "If I Ever See You Again" and that Veno would not be leaving the band. [9]
On May 16, 2019, the band released a music video for their first single since Adornment, "Painkiller Weather". On June 24, 2019, the band on their social media teased what would be their second single off of Nella Vita, in the form of "In Violet" through PopCrush. They released the song and video on July 1. The band's second album Nella Vita was also announced on July 1 with a September 6, 2019 release date. Nick Ventimiglia drew inspiration from artists like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Prince for the record, while Andrew Kyne was influenced by Motown and Jon Bellion. [10]
Their next singles "Old Friends" and "Baby Blue" were released on August 9 and August 23, respectively. A video for "Baby Blue" premiered on August 27 through RockSound. A music video for Young was released in October 2019. [11] Loudwire named the album one of the 50 best rock efforts of 2019. [12]
In promotion for their second album, Grayscale set out on their 1st ever headlining tour, The Nella Vita Tour, across the United States along with the likes of pop punk bands Belmont (band), Bearings and Rich People. The tour spanned from September 3 in Asbury Park, New Jersey to October 5 in Philadelphia, PA. [13]
In November 2019, the band announced that they were going on a second tour around the United States in 2020. The Nella Vita Tour Part 2 goes from January 24 in Wilmington, DE to February 27 in Lancaster, PA. The tour package included Chicago based punk band Lurk, English pop punk band WSTR and Michigan based pop punk band Hot Mulligan.
In January 2020, Grayscale announced that they will headline some shows in Europe, and also open some shows for Four Year Strong.
The band released their third studio album, Umbra, on August 27, 2021. Vocalist Collin Walsh describes the project as "the record where [they] began to truly figure [themselves] out," noting that the record "feels like the most authentic version" of the band. [14] Standout songs include the emotional "Live Again," inspired by Walsh's father's illness. [14]
Grayscale subsequently embarked on their tour in support of the album on November 1, 2021. Walsh described the tour as "a killer show with killer energy every night," showcasing the band's passion for the record and their talent as live performers. [14]
Grayscale is no longer affiliated with Fearless Records, as they are listed on Fearless's alumni section. [15]
Grayscale began teasing new music in July 2023. On September 8, 2023, they released a new single titled "Not Afraid to Die". This was their first release since What We're Missing to not be released with Fearless Records.
Grayscale's style has been described as "pop punk", [2] [3] [4] [16] as well as "blending pure, raw emotion with elements of alternative rock and punk roots". [2] [6]

Bayside is an American punk rock band from the Bayside, Queens neighborhood of New York City, formed in 2000 by lead vocalist Anthony Raneri. The group also consists of lead guitarist Jack O'Shea, bassist Nick Ghanbarian, and drummer Chris Guglielmo.

Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida. Formed in 2005, the band was a result of a merger between two local Tallahassee bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. Their debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends, was released in 2006, and sold over 50,000 copies without any label support. In July 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut album A Lesson in Romantics. Having been signed to Fearless Records since 2006, the band also signed onto a major label with Atlantic Records in 2009. Their second studio album, Anywhere but Here was released in October 2009 and their third album, entitled Mayday Parade, was released in October 2011. Mayday Parade's fourth album, titled Monsters in the Closet, was released in October 2013. Their fifth album, titled Black Lines, was released October 2015. In April 2018, the band signed to Rise Records and released their sixth studio album Sunnyland on June 15, 2018. Their seventh studio album, What It Means to Fall Apart, was released on November 19, 2021.
New Years Day is an American rock band formed in Anaheim, California, in 2005. After building a reputation strictly through promotion on the social networking website MySpace, the band released its debut self-titled EP in 2006 and their first full-length album My Dear in 2007. Six years after their initial debut, Victim to Villain was finally released, followed by Malevolence in 2015. Malevolence peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest charting thus far.
A Lesson in Romantics is the debut studio album by American rock band Mayday Parade. The band resulted from a merger of two separate bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. The band released an EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, in June 2006, which they sold to people by following the 2006 edition of Warped Tour and offering copies; it eventually sold 10,000 copies. The band signed to Fearless Records in August. A Lesson in Romantics was recorded in early 2007 with producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount. Vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster left the band in March 2007 citing a lack of writing credit on the band's releases. Prior to the release of A Lesson in Romantics, "Black Cat", "When I Get Home, You're So Dead", and "Jamie All Over" were made available for streaming. After the album's release, the band participated in the 2007 edition of Warped Tour.
Can't Stop Won't Stop is the debut studio album by American rock band The Maine. It was released on July 8, 2008 through Fearless Records. The album debuted at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 and sold 12,000 copies first week.
Sparks the Rescue is an American rock band from Maine. They formed when members of three high school bands, Pozer, Short of April, and Two Girls Later, converged. Their debut EP, Stumbling Skyward, was released independently in 2005 with McAllister and O'Connell sharing main vocal duties. The band released the Hey, Mr. Allure EP in 2006, which saw the addition of lead vocalist Alex Roy. On February 6, 2007, Sparks the Rescue released their junior EP, The Secrets We Can't Keep, after signing to Double Blind Music. This release saw the departure of their keyboardist. STR officially released their debut full-length album Eyes to the Sun on May 5, 2009, on Fearless Records. The album was produced by Jonathan Wyman of Halo Studios in Westbrook, Maine.
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith, guitarist Jose DelRio, and drummer Daniel Nelson. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with no founding members remaining. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.

Best known for its horror-inspired lyrics, Ice Nine Kills formed in its earliest incarnation in 2000 by high school friends Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz.
