Lake County is situated in the northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Illinois, along the shores of Lake Michigan. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 714,342, making it the third-most populous county in Illinois. Its county seat is Waukegan, the tenth-largest city in Illinois. The county is primarily suburban, with some urban areas and some rural areas. Due to its location, immediately north of Cook County, Lake County is one of the collar counties of the Chicago metropolitan area. Its northern boundary is the Wisconsin state line.

Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 is a school district in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Created in 1951, the district serves the communities of New Lenox, Frankfort, Mokena, Manhattan, and small portions of Tinley Park, Orland Park and Homer Glen. The three schools comprising the district are Lincoln-Way Central High School, Lincoln-Way East High School, and Lincoln-Way West High School. A fourth high school, Lincoln-Way North High School, was closed at the end of the 2015–2016 school year as part of a deficit reduction plan. Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way West are located in New Lenox, Lincoln-Way East is located in Frankfort and Lincoln-Way North is in Frankfort Square. District 210 offices are located at Lincoln-Way Central.
The College of Lake County, commonly referred to as CLC, is a public community college in Lake County, Illinois. CLC's primary campus is located in Grayslake and two other campuses exist in nearby Waukegan and Vernon Hills. It is located in the greater Chicago metro area and sits about 46 miles north of the city. In 1967, a referendum passed establishing the CLC community college district and classes began in 1969. It enrolls about 15,000 students in transfer programs, career programs, GED and adult basic education, non-credit and career development, and training for businesses.
Community High School District 99 is a local school district serving Downers Grove, Woodridge, Westmont, Darien, Lisle, Bolingbrook, and Oak Brook in the state of Illinois. A non-residential portion of Lombard also is zoned to this district. It consists of two high schools, North High School and South High School, both located in Downers Grove. The Fox Valley Conference is an IHSA recognized high school extracurricular conference including the following schools, generally located in the northern part of the Fox River basin in Illinois. Argo Community High School is a public four-year high school located in Summit, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. The district draws students from the communities of Summit, Bedford Park, Bridgeview, Justice, Willow Springs, and a portion of Hickory Hills. The school was named for the area surrounding the large corn processing plant located near the school, which manufactured Argo corn starch and is currently owned by Ingredion. In 2014 and 2016, Argo was awarded a bronze medal by U.S. News & World Report for outstanding academic performance, the only school in the South Suburban Conference to receive such recognition.

Grayslake Central High School is a public four-year high school located in Grayslake, Illinois and is part of Grayslake Community High School District 127. Founded in 1946, the school services the Chicago suburbs of Grayslake, Hainesville, and parts of Round Lake. The school's mascot is the Ram. Sender schools include Park School Campus, Grayslake Middle School, Woodland Middle School, Fremont Middle School, Highland Middle School, St. Gilbert Catholic School, and Prairie Crossing Charter School.
Community High School District 117 is a 9-12 high school district based in Lake Villa, Lake County, Illinois that serves both the city where it is based and the village of Antioch, Illinois, alongside Old Mill Creek and Lindenhurst. District 117 is composed of two high schools: Antioch Community High School, which is located in the city of its namesake; and Lakes Community High School, which is, in turn, located in Lake Villa. The district superintendent is Dr. Jeff Feucht. Jori Bowen oversees Lakes as principal, Eric Hamilton serves as the principal of Antioch.
Community Consolidated School District 46 is a PK-8 school district located in the northern reaches of Lake County, Illinois; almost half of its schools are based in the village of Grayslake. The consolidated district is composed of seven schools: those seven schools can further be divided into two branches. The first branch is progressive, with students moving from school to school, and that list of progression is listed here; Meadowview School serves kindergarten through fourth grade. The principal of the school is Laura Morgan, and the school is located in Grayslake. There are three other elementary schools in the district, and they are named Avon Center School, Prairieview School, and Woodview School; these schools are all facilities in which those in kindergarten through fourth grade. Respectively, Avon Center is located in Round Lake Beach, Prairieview is located in Hainesville, and Woodview is located in Grayslake; Lynn Barkley is the principal of Avon Center, Dr. Amanda Schoenberg is the principal of Prairieview, and Jeff Knapp is principal at Woodview. All elementary schools feed into Frederick Intermediate School, which serves the early junior high grades five and six and is directed by principal Eric Detweiler; All graduates of Frederick Intermediate, in turn, attend Grayslake Middle School, which educates the seventh and eighth grade under the direction of principal Marcus Smith. The second branch is composed of one grade school, or a school that serves all grades within the same facility. This facility is called Park Campus and it is governed by principal Matt Melamed. Park Campus and Grayslake Middle School feed into Grayslake Community High School District 127, and into one of its two high schools: Grayslake North High School, or Grayslake Central High School.
Lincoln-Way West High School or LWW, is a public four-year high school located about 1.5 miles south of Lincoln Highway near the intersection of Gougar Road and Illinois Highway in New Lenox, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is the part of Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210. Students living within the Lincoln-Way boundaries of Liberty Junior High in New Lenox School District 122 and Manhattan Junior High in Manhattan School District 114 attend Lincoln-Way West.
