Greatest Hits is the debut studio album by American rock band Alien Ant Farm, released in 1999 through the bands own label "Chick Music Records". Despite its name, it is not a compilation album, and was intended to be tongue-in-cheek. [1] The album won best independent album at the 9th annual LA Music awards in 1999. [2] Most of the songs were reworked for Anthology and Truant .

Contents

The band was well known in their local scene, and after the release of the album, the band played numerous shows in California and in Europe; [3] They were well acquainted with fellow California band Papa Roach, and they were the first act signed to Papa Roach's New Noize label in 2000. [4] In 2005, the album was reissued with a thinner font. [5] Miguel Martinez, who mixed some this album, later died by suicide, and the track "Sleepwalker" from Up in the Attic was dedicated to his girlfriend. [6]

On October 14, 2021, Tye Zamora posted an old homemade music video for this version of "Movies" on Facebook. It consisted of the band performing in a room, along with clips from various concerts. [7]

At the end of 2000, Alien Ant Farm started recording their next album with producer Jay Baumgardner at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California. An alternative metal and nu metal release, critics compared the album to the works of Incubus and A Perfect Circle.

Many of the album songs contains rapping and hip hop influences. It was certified 3× Platinum in the U.S. on July 18, 2001, and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. This album earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. It is their best-selling album to date. Time for Annihilation: On the Record & On the Road is the first live album by the American rock band Papa Roach. It was released on August 31, 2010. Jerry Horton said in a blog on the band's official website that they recorded it on the last run of the tour with Shinedown. Later, Jacoby Shaddix reported on the site that five entirely new tracks had been written and would be studio recorded and released with the Time for Annihilation album. The first single, "Kick in the Teeth", was released on June 22, 2010. The album's name is a lyric quote from the song "Crash" from the band's 2006 album, The Paramour Sessions.
