The Greenville Hunters were a Texas League (1906), North Texas League (1907) and East Texas League (1924-1926) baseball team based in Greenville, Texas. Pepper Martin played for them. [1]

His comeback was the subject of the 1949 film The Stratton Story, in which he was portrayed by Jimmy Stewart.

The Big State League was a mid-level, Class B level circuit in American minor league baseball that played for 11 seasons, from 1947 through 1957. Its member clubs were exclusively based in Texas. The Corpus Christi Clippers (1955-1956), Texarkana Bears and Wichita Falls Spudders each won two league championships.

The Greenville Bluesmen were a minor league baseball team that played in Greenville, Mississippi. The team was a member of the independent Big South League from 1996–1997 and the independent Texas–Louisiana League from 1998–2001. The team played at Legion Field in Greenville.

Henry E. Frnka was an American football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head coach at the University of Tulsa from 1941 to 1945 and at Tulane University from 1946 to 1951, compiling a career college football record of 71–32–5. Frnka was also the athletic director at Tulsa from 1941 to 1945.

The Little League Softball World Series is a softball tournament for girls aged 10 to 12 years old. It was first held in 1974 and is held every August at Stallings Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina, in the United States. Little League expanded the field of World Series participants to 12 in 2022, adding 2 regions in the United States. Before being held in Greenville, it was held outside of Portland, Oregon at Alpenrose Stadium.

The 2020 Greenville Triumph SC season was the second season in the soccer team's history, where they competed in the third division of American soccer, USL League One, the second season of that competition. Greenville Triumph SC also participated in the 2020 U.S. Open Cup. Greenville Triumph SC play their home games at Legacy Early College Field, located in Greenville, South Carolina, United States.

The 2020 Union Omaha season was the first season in the soccer team's history, where they competed in the third division of American soccer, USL League One, the second season of that competition. Union Omaha played their home games at Werner Park, located in Papillion, Nebraska, United States. Union Omaha finished the regular season in second place to qualify for the USL League One final to take place against Greenville Triumph, however the game was canceled due to an outbreak of COVID-19 on the Union Omaha roster. Greenville were awarded the title as a result of finishing with the highest points per game average during the regular season.
