Greg Castiglioni is an Italian born, musical theatre performer based in London, England. Critic Dan Parker of Broadway Baby wrote of Castiglioni's portrayal of "Baalthazar" in Love Birds , "Vocally, his dramatic vibrato and range is enticing to hear, adding to his impeccable comic timing." [1]

Early life

Greg Castiglioni was born in Milan and grew up by lake Como in Italy. He is fluent in four languages (English, Italian, German and French) [2] and has a degree in law from the University of Westminster. After receiving a full scholarship from The Stage newspaper, Castiglioni trained at Mountview Conservatoire in London, England. [3]

Career

Castiglioni played the role of Emcee in the English Theatre Frankfurt’s production of Cabaret ,[ citation needed ] Thomas Andrews in Titanic London, UK tour & Canadian productions[ citation needed ] and Count Fosco in the first revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White , for which he was nominated for an Offie.[ citation needed ] He also played the Russian Tenor in the Chichester Festival Theatre's production of Fiddler on the Roof ;[ citation needed ] "Gus the Theatre Cat" in a UK/European tour of Cats ;[ citation needed ] M Reyer in the 25th anniversary UK tour of Phantom of the Opera (and understudy for "the Phantom" and "Piangi");[ citation needed ] Magaldi in the 2006 West End revival of Evita ; [4] Rusty (alternate) in Starlight Express ;[ citation needed ] Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest ;[ citation needed ] understudy for Thénardier in Les Misérables ;[ citation needed ] Paul in Company ;[ citation needed ] Pluto in Orpheus in the Underworld and "Luiz" in The Gondoliers with Opera della Luna. [2] He created the role of Baalthazar in Love Birds [1] was a featured performer in the original cast of A Spoonful of Sherman ;[ citation needed ] appeared in the world premiere of Lend Me a Tenor ;[ citation needed ] and was a featured soloist in "Hair" at the Oslo Spektrum.[ citation needed ]

In 2020, Castiglioni played Piangi in a UK/Ireland tour of Phantom and reprised the role from 2021 to 2023 in the West End production.[ citation needed ]
