Gregory F. Quinn is an American attorney and Republican member of the St. Louis County Council. [1] Quinn has represented the seventh district since 1991. [2]

Early life and career

Quinn received his bachelor's degree in economics from Michigan State University in 1972. [1] He went on to receive his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law in 1975. [1] While in law school he was editor of the Urban Law Annual. [2] He has been admitted to the Missouri bar and Illinois bar. [1] He is currently a partner at Quinn & Banton, L.L.P., formerly Quinn, Ground, & Banton, where he has worked since 1976, when he co-founded the firm with law school classmate Paul Ground. [2] Another partner at the firm, Steve Banton, is a president of the Rockwood school board and state representative. [3] Quinn's areas of practice are workers' compensation, personal injury, probation and estate planning, employment law, and business transactions. [2] He is married to Micki Quinn and has three kids. [1] He attends the St Clare of Assisi Church in Ballwin. [1]

Political career

Quinn has been a member of the St. Louis County Council since 1991. [2] He has served two terms as council chairman. [1] He represents the seventh district, which contains about 145,000 people in west St. Louis County. [2]

Herbert Spencer Hadley was an American lawyer and a Republican Party politician from St. Louis, Missouri. Born in Olathe, Kansas, he was Missouri Attorney General from 1905 to 1909 and in 1908 was elected the 32nd Governor of Missouri, serving one term from 1909 to 1913. As Attorney General, he successfully prosecuted Standard Oil Company for violating Missouri antitrust law. Entering the 1912 Republican convention, the Roosevelt and Taft forces seemed evenly matched, and Hadley was seen as a possible compromise candidate. While Taft was supportive of the idea, Roosevelt refused.

In the 80's it grew to become the 12th largest corporate law firm in the United States. The firm's headquarters was in the Interco Tower in downtown Clayton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis County. The firm no longer practices law and entered a wind down phase on May 1, 2012. The reason given on its website was that, "Recently, like all too many companies in America, the law firm of Gallop, Johnson and Neuman has struggled with the challenges resulting from the nation’s current slow economy.
