Gro Hillestad Thune

Gro Hillestad Thune (born 19 January 1943) is a Norwegian jurist and politician for the Labour Party.

Born in Oslo, [1] she served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus during the term 19771981. [2]

She chaired the Norwegian Consumer Council from 1977 to 1984. [1] She was a member of the board of NAVF from 1980 to 1982 and the National Institute for Consumer Research from 1980 to 1984, and chaired the board of Radiumhospitalet from 1980 to 1985. [2]

A lawyer by profession, she was a member of the European Commission of Human Rights from 1982 to 1998. [1]

Gro Harlem Brundtland Norwegian politician (born 1939)

Gro Brundtland is a Norwegian politician (Arbeiderpartiet), who served three terms as the 29th prime minister of Norway and as the director-general of the World Health Organization from 1998 to 2003. She is also known for having chaired the Brundtland Commission which presented the Brundtland Report on sustainable development. Kari Gjesteby is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has never been a member of the Norwegian Parliament, but has been State Secretary for three tenures, as well as Minister of Trade and Shipping from February to October 1981 and Minister of Justice and the Police from 1990 to 1992. After her political career she has been a director in the Bank of Norway, director of the National Library of Norway and the Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille and, from 2009 to 2013, the first female State Conciliator of Norway.

She was mayor of Skien from 1983 to 1986, a State Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Labour from 1986 to 1987 and Minister of Administration and Consumer Affairs from 1988 to 1989. After quitting politics, she worked as secretary-general of Mental Helse from 1991 to 2005.
