Grotesco

Grotesco is a Swedish comedy group and the name of a comedy series that the group recorded three seasons for, under SVT, it aired between Autumn of 2007 and 2017. As well as this, the group also participated as break entertainment in Melodifestivalen 2009 (The Melody Festival - A Swedish festival to determine the 49th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest), and released a CD with different variants of the hit song Tingeling, which headlined in the break entertainment.

The group was formed in the 90's in Lidingö but got its current form and members in 2006. [1]

On 15 January 2015, they had the premiere for their first stage performance "Grotesco på Scala - en näradödenrevy" (Grotesco at Scala - a near-death revue) in the Scala Theatre in Stockholm. On 3 September 2015, it was confirmed that Grotesco would do a third season of their TV series.

DJ Trexx is a pseudonym of Swedish actor, producer and writer Michael Lindgren, who is a part of the Grotesco comedy collective. DJ Trexx is a satirical figure who was initially portrayed as a Croatian disc jockey who performs kitschy eurotechno songs, but has also at times appeared to be Russian. In the finals of Melodifestivalen 2009, DJ Trexx performed a version of the song "Tingeling", which had been a recurring theme of several comical between-acts performed by the Grotesco team in that year's episodes of Melodifestivalen. The song "Tingaliin", the Russian version of "Tingeling" was released as a single and hit number one on Sverigetopplistan in March 2009.

Tingeling is a group of songs created and performed by Henrik Dorsin, Michael Lindgren, Andreas Alfredsson Grube, Andreas Grill, Jorge Olivares Rivas and Grotesco which served as entertainment during the intermission of the Melodifestivalen 2009. A version of the songs, namely Tingaliin was released as a single that peaked at number one on the Sverigetopplistan 27 March 2009. On 5 April 2009, it entered Svensktoppen.

Icona Pop are a Swedish synth-pop duo that formed in 2009, with electro house and indie pop music influences. Its two members, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, grew up in Stockholm and create what the Swedish press has described as music which "you can both laugh and cry to at the same time". They signed to TEN Music Group in 2009 and are currently also in a label deal with Ultra Music. Their biggest hit to date has been "I Love It".

Se upp för Jönssonligan is a 2020 Swedish comedy film, directed by Tomas Alfredson. It is the fifteenth installment in the Jönssonligan franchise, and a reboot of the series. As the second reboot of the series, the creative team went back to farce comedy, after the heist thriller comedy in Jönssonligan – Den perfekta stöten failed to live up to the expectations.

<i>The Curse</i> (American TV series) American comedy television series

The Curse is an American satirical black comedy thriller television series created and written by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, and starring Emma Stone, Fielder, and Safdie. It was filmed from June to October 2022 and premiered on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime and Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on November 10, 2023, before making its on-air debut on Showtime on November 12. Its first three episodes were premiered at the New York Film Festival on October 12, 2023.
