Gunhild Maria Larking (born 13 January 1936) is a retired Swedish high jumper. She competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics, 1954 European Athletics Championships and 1956 Summer Olympics and placed ninth in 1952 and fourth in 1954 and 1956. Ingemar Harald Robert Hedberg was a Swedish sprint canoeist who competed in the early 1950s. He won the silver medal in the K-2 1000 m event at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Hedberg also won three gold medals at the 1950 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Copenhagen, earning them in the K-1 4×500 m, K-2 500 m, and K-2 1000 m events. He died in May 2019 at the age of 99.

The men's ISSF 50 meter pistol was a shooting sports event held as part of the Shooting at the 1956 Summer Olympics programme. It was the ninth appearance of the event. The competition was held on 30 November 1956 at the shooting ranges in Melbourne. 33 shooters from 22 nations competed. Nations had been limited to two shooters each since the 1952 Games. The winner was Pentti Linnosvuo of Finland, the nation's first medal in the free pistol. The Soviet Union also won its first medal in the event, with Makhmud Umarov's silver. American Offutt Pinion took bronze.

Born on 10 July 1903 in Österunda, Sweden, she began her film-acting career with a small role in 1933's Djurgårdsnätter, starring Erik Berglund and Anne-Marie Brunius. Ingrid Margareta Almqvist was a Swedish javelin thrower. She competed at the 1948, 1956 and 1960 Summer Olympics and finished in 10th, 5th and 14th place, respectively. She placed 8th–10th at the European championships of 1950–1958. Almqvist won 15 Swedish javelin titles in 1947, 1949–52 and 1954–64. In addition to athletics, she played 11 international handball matches for Sweden and competed nationally in fencing.
