Gunnar Martens (born 1940) is a Danish official who was the third High Commissioner of Greenland, [1] holding this position from 1 July 1995 to 31 March 2002. He became a first class knight of the Order of the Dannebrog in 2001. [2]

In 1808,the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order.
