Overview
The club ran poker ring games, and tournaments one to three times per day, and hosted four festivals of poker per annum.
Amongst the successes achieved by members of the club are:

In addition to many English poker players, former WSOP main event champions Phil Hellmuth Jr, Chris Ferguson, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem also played at the venue, as well as others such as Scott Fischman, Howard Lederer, Marcel Lüske and Andy Bloch.
In May 2006, the Gutshot held the first ever event of the Showdown Poker Tour, a £3,448 buy-in event won by EPT winner Mats Gavatin.
On 16 January 2007, the owner of the club was convicted of contravening the Gaming Act. The jury in the case rejected Derek Kelly's contention that poker was a game of skill, and thus exempt from the Gaming Act. Derek Kelly appealed this verdict at the Royal Court of Appeal in London but failed, after which the club closed. [1]
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is an internationally televised gaming and entertainment brand similar to its larger rival the European Poker Tour (EPT) Since 2002, the World Poker Tour has operated a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting playdown and the final table of each tournament.
Gustav Hansen is a Danish professional poker player from Copenhagen, Denmark who has lived in Monaco since 2003. In his poker career, Hansen has won three World Poker Tour open titles, one WSOP bracelet and the 2007 Aussie Millions main event, and was the season one winner of the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament. Before turning to playing poker professionally in 1997, Hansen was already a world class backgammon player and a youth tennis champion.
Thuận B. "Scotty" Nguyễn is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player who is a five-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, most notably as the winner of the 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event and the 2008 World Series of Poker $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship. He is the first and only player to win both the WSOP Main Event and $50,000 Players' Championship.
Juan Carlos Mortensen is an Ecuadorian professional poker player of Danish descent and the first South American Main Event winner of the World Series of Poker. Mortensen is known for his loose play, bluffing tactics, and interesting chip-stacking style.
Andrew Black is a poker player from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who presently resides in Dublin.
Roland De Wolfe is an English professional poker player and a former writer for the poker magazine Inside Edge.
Kirill Gerasimov is a Russian professional poker player.
Patrik Antonius is a Finnish professional poker player, former tennis player and coach, and model from Vantaa, Finland. He currently resides in Monte Carlo. Antonius was mentored by poker pro Marcel Lüske as a member of Luske's "Circle of Outlaws" and later advised by Jennifer Harman. Antonius has two children.
J. C. Tran is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player, based in Sacramento, California.
Mark Teltscher is an English poker player, based in London, England. He was the winner of the 2005 European Poker Tour London leg.
Theo Jørgensen is a Danish professional poker player, based in Copenhagen.
Bertrand Grospellier, also known as ElkY, is a French poker player and former StarCraft: Brood War and Warcraft III esports player. He has won a World Poker Tour (WPT), a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and a European Poker Tour (EPT) title, giving him the Triple Crown. He is a partypoker Pro and he currently resides in Prague, Czech Republic. ElkY is ranked #77 on the Global Poker Index. In November 2015 ElkY returned to the esports scene by joining Team Liquid as a Hearthstone player.
Isaac Baron an American professional poker player from Menlo Park, California. He was the winner of the first Card Player Magazine Online Poker Player of the Year Award in 2007.
Dario Minieri is an Italian professional poker player from Rome, Italy who won a bracelet at the 2008 World Series of Poker at the age of 23, is a member of team PokerStars, is an online poker player who was the first person to collect enough Frequent Player Points to buy an automobile with them, and is a three-time European Poker Tour final tablist.
William Thorson is a Swedish professional poker player from Varberg, Sweden and a three time European Poker Tour (EPT) final table participant who, in the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, finished in 13th place.
Dario Alioto is a professional poker player from Palermo, Italy. Alioto's first major success in poker came at the European Poker Tour 2005 Barcellona main event, where he finished in 7th place and earned €52,000. Right after this score, he started grinding PLO cash games that became his best poker game, rapidly becoming one of the best Italian professional players. Later on in his career, he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event at the 2007 World Series of Poker Europe. Alioto earned £234,390 for his finish. He has also had success at the 2008 World Series of Poker, where he has earned over $230,000 from four cashes. A well-respected cash game player online and live, he played most of the many televised Italian high-stakes cash games in the last few years. He now plays a wide variety of games and is now considered one of the best all-around players in Europe.
Michael Watson is a Canadian professional online poker player from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador who won a World Poker Tour title in July 2008. He also finished 2nd in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em – Mixed Max of the 2014 World Series of Poker.
Peter Nicolas Eastgate is a poker player from Denmark, best known as the winner of the Main Event at the 2008 World Series of Poker. At the time, he became the youngest player ever to win the event. He was subsequently surpassed by Joe Cada in 2009.
Sebastian Ruthenberg is a German professional poker player who is both a World Series of Poker bracelet and a European Poker Tour title winner.
Michael Martin is an American professional poker player from Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania who was the winner at the European Poker Tour (EPT) £5,200 EPT London Main Event earning £1,000,000.
