The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a network of engineering and technology institutions in India. Established in 1950, they are renowned for their academic excellence. Techniche is the annual Techno-Management festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. The festival was started in 1999 by Dhirendra Sinha, a Mechanical Engineering B Tech student along with a group of students within the IIT Guwahati campus. Spread over three days and four nights, Techniche is generally conducted towards the end of August each year.
The Auroville Marathon is an annual marathon event that courses through the city of Dawn Auroville in Tamil Nadu state of India. They also have Half Marathon and 10k runs added. It is one of the largest and most popular running events in India, with participants from different parts of India. The event is largely publicised by word of mouth and through blogs and other social networks by runners who have run the race before.
Calicut Half Marathon is a running and sporting event conducted annually by IIM Kozhikode. First initiated in 2010, the event now takes place annually in the month of February or March. Over 5000 people participate in the marathon every year. The event consists of timed races of 21 kilometres and 10 kilometres and a non-competitive "Dream Run" of 3 kilometres, which is not timed. The total prize money for both the men's and Women's categories combined for the timed races is INR 4,50,000.
Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, formerly Jorhat Science College is an engineering college established in 1971 by the government of Assam. It is located in Sotai, on the outskirts of Jorhat city. It is the first science college of Upper Assam and the third state-government-run engineering college of Assam. It is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University. It is also the only government engineering college of Assam which offers both engineering and basic science courses.
Technothlon is an International School Championship organized by the IIT Guwahati. Technothlon began in 2004 with an aim to ‘Inspire Young Minds’. Starting on its journey with a participation of 200 students confined to the city of Guwahati, over the next 17 years Technothlon has expanded its reach to over 450+ cities all over India and various centers abroad.
Alcheringa, also known as "Alcher", is the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. The festival was started in 1996 by a group of students of IIT Guwahati. Spread over 3 days and 4 nights, Alcheringa is conducted towards the end of January every year. The 27th edition of Alcheringa was held from 2nd February 2023 to 5th February 2023, witnessing 80+ events.
Queer Pride Guwahati was organised for the first time by the members and supporters of the local LGBT community in Guwahati, Assam on 9 February 2014. The Queer Pride Guwahati was the first LGBT Pride in the entire North Eastern India. The Pride is now an annual event.
The Goa Marathon is an annual event, now in its ninth year. It has always been organized on the first Sunday of February. In its 2020 edition, organisers said more than 2000 participants ran to help raise funds for charitable causes. The Marathon currently features four races—the 21 kilometre Half Marathon, 10 Kilometre Run, 5 kilometre Dream Run and the School Run for children under 14 and 16 years of age. The 10K Run and the School Run, first started in 2014, are the most popular.

The Ladakh Marathon is a marathon held in Leh, a town in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh. It claims to be the highest marathon in the world, held at a height of 11,500 to 17,618 feet. The event's primary edition was held in 2012 and its latest edition was deferred to September 2022 due to COVID-19. In 2015 the marathon joined the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. It is the fifth marathon from India to receive international recognition.
The Pinkathon, India's biggest women's run, is an initiative of the United Sisters Foundation and organised by Maximus Mice and Media Solutions Pvt Ltd. It was created with the specific purpose of getting more and more women to adopt a fitter lifestyle and to highlight the need for increased awareness about Breast cancer and other health issues that put women's lives at risk. State Bank of India took up the title sponsorship of the Pinkathon in 2014. The founders of Pinkathon are Milind Soman and Reema Sanghavi.
Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Tezpur (GIMT-Tezpur) is a private institute offering degree level technical courses in the State of Assam is a Private college established by Shrimanta Shankar Academy (SSA) Society and Government of Assam, India. The college was established with permission from the state government and approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Gauhati University (GU), Guwahati, Assam and also to Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Guwahati, Assam.
Indore Marathon is an annual marathon race organised in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is organised by Indore Municipal Corporation as Reliance Jio as its title sponsor. Every Year Participants from all over Indore & from the country take part in the Marathon.
