Guy Busick is an American film and television screenwriter best known for his collaborations with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, including Ready or Not (2019), Scream (2022), Scream VI (2023) and Abigail (2024).
In 2016, Busick began his writing career by drafting the story for the thriller film Urge . [1] He transitioned to television by writing episodes of Stan Against Evil and Castle Rock . [2] [3] In 2019, he began his series of collaborations with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett by drafting the screenplay for the horror film Ready or Not . [4] In 2020, he continued his collaborations with Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett with the upcoming horror film Reunion. [5] The following year, he gained notability from writing the script for the slasher revival film Scream . [6] In January 2022, he was hired to script the upcoming horror film Final Destination: Bloodlines . Scream (Music from the Motion Picture) is the soundtrack to the 2022 film Scream, the fifth instalment in the Scream franchise directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The original score is composed by Brian Tyler, thereby replacing veteran franchise composer Marco Beltrami who contributed music for the first four instalments. The original score was released by Varèse Sarabande on January 7, 2022 and features 24 tracks running for over an hour. Unlike the previous instalments, a soundtrack for the songs featured in the film had not been released.
