Guy Mossman is an American cinematographer and director. [1] [2] He has contributed to projects such as Buck , The Human Trial, and Speak . [3] [4]

Career

Mossman graduated from Colorado College in 1995. [5] In 1999 he produced his first short film while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay. [6] He later pursued an M.A. in Journalism and Documentary Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he was awarded a Park Fellowship in 2002. [7] In the mid-2000s, he co-founded Vox Pop Films in Tribeca, New York, with his wife, filmmaker Lisa Hepner, producing documentaries like Women on the Frontlines (2004), which premiered at the United Nations and aired on PBS. Mossman professional work includes documentary films such as Buck (2011), a documentary about horse trainer Buck Brannaman, screened at the Sundance Film Festival, Feels Good Man (2020), which explores the Pepe the Frog meme, and The Human Trial (2022), about Type 1 diabetes research. [9] [10] [11] In 2024, he served as cinematographer and executive producer for SPEAK. , a feature documentary directed by Jennifer Tiexiera about competitive speech and debate. [12] Initially developed as a series in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, it became a feature film in late 2021, using wide-angle anamorphic primes for close shots and shot in S-Gamut.cine/Slog3 with a custom LUT adjusted by colorist Beau Leon, despite fundraising challenges during production.
