Gymnastics at the 2001 Southeast Asian Games was divided into two sub-categories: artistic gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics. The artistic gymnastics was held from September 8 to September 12, and the rhythmic gymnastics from September 14 to September 16. All events were held at the Putra Indoor Stadium National Sports Complex, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Rifda Irfanaluthfi is an Indonesian artistic gymnast. She has competed for Indonesia in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, 2017 Southeast Asian Games, and 2018 Asian Games.

Gymnastics at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games

The gymnastics competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur were held at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre in Segambut.

Reyland Capellan is a Filipino male artistic gymnast, representing his nation at international competitions. He competed at world championships, including the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow. He also competed in the gymnastics competitions at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. He got gold on Floor and bronze on Vault. Capellan ended the Philippines' 10-year drought of gold medals, since Roel Ramirez won at the 2005 Games in the Men's Vault. He competed once again in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and defended his floor title.

The men's indoor hockey tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games was held from 21 to 26 August in Malaysia. In this tournament, 6 Southeast Asian teams played in the men's competition.

Malaysia at the 2020 Summer Olympics Malaysia at the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo

Malaysia is currently competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's official debut in 1956 under the name Malaya, Malaysian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the United States-led boycott.

Carlos Yulo Filipino artistic gymnast

Carlos Edriel Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast who has won bronze and gold at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He is the first Filipino and the first male Southeast Asian gymnast to win in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships with his floor exercise bronze medal finish in 2018, and the first ever gold medal for the Philippines in 2019 on the same apparatus. This performance also qualified him to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Agus Adi Prayoko is an Indonesian artistic gymnast. In 2018, he won the bronze medal in the men's vault event at the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
