Hosagrahar Visvesvaraya Jagadish (Jag) is a computer scientist in the field of database systems research. He is a Fellow of ACM, Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of AAAS, the Distinguished University Professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, the director of MIDAS (Michigan Institute for Data Science), and a Senior Scientific Director of the National Center for Integrative Biomedical Informatics established by the National Institutes of Health.

Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose (;, IPA:[dʒɔɡodiʃtʃɔndroboʃu]; 30 November 1858 – 23 November 1937) was a polymath with interests in biology, physics, botany and writing science fiction. He was a pioneer in the investigation of radio microwave optics, made significant contributions to botany, and was a major force behind the expansion of experimental science on the Indian subcontinent. Bose is considered the father of Bengali science fiction. He invented the crescograph, a device for measuring the growth of plants. A crater on the Moon was named in his honour. He founded Bose Institute, a premier research institute in India and also one of its oldest. Established in 1917, the institute was the first interdisciplinary research centre in Asia. He served as the Director of Bose Institute from its inception until his death.
John Edward Hopcroft is an American theoretical computer scientist. His textbooks on theory of computation and data structures are regarded as standards in their fields. He is the IBM Professor of Engineering and Applied Mathematics in Computer Science at Cornell University, Co-Director of the Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies at Peking University, and the Director of the John Hopcroft Center for Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis OBE, FNA, FASc, FRS was an Indian scientist and statistician. He is best remembered for the Mahalanobis distance, a statistical measure, and for being one of the members of the first Planning Commission of free India. He made pioneering studies in anthropometry in India. He founded the Indian Statistical Institute, and contributed to the design of large-scale sample surveys. For his contributions, Mahalanobis has been considered the Father of statistics in India.
Herman Heine Goldstine was a mathematician and computer scientist, who worked as the director of the IAS machine at the Institute for Advanced Study and helped to develop ENIAC, the first of the modern electronic digital computers. He subsequently worked for many years at IBM as an IBM Fellow, the company's most prestigious technical position.

Debendra Mohan Bose was an Indian physicist who made contributions in the field of cosmic rays, artificial radioactivity and neutron physics. He was the longest serving Director (1938–1967) of Bose Institute. Bose was the nephew of the famous physicist Jagadish Chandra Bose, who laid the foundations of modern science in India.
Carl E. Landwehr is an American computer scientist whose research focus is cybersecurity and trustworthy computing. His work has addressed the identification of software vulnerabilities toward high assurance software development, architectures for intrusion-tolerant and multilevel security systems, token-based authentication, and system evaluation and certification methods. In an invited essay for ACSAC 2013, he proposed the idea of developing building codes for building software that is used in critical infrastructures. He has organized an NSF funded workshop to develop a building code and research agenda for medical device software security. The final committee report is available through the Cyber Security and Policy Institute of the George Washington University, and the building code through the IEEE.
Bhagavatula Lakshmi Surya Prakasa Rao is an Indian statistician. He was born on 6 October 1942 in Porumamilla, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his B.A. (Honours) course in Mathematics from Andhra University in 1960 and moved to the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, where he completed his M.Stat in Statistics in 1962. He graduated with a Ph.D in Statistics in 1966 from Michigan State University under Herman Rubin. He won the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in Mathematical Sciences in 1982 from the Government of India, the Outstanding Alumni award from the Michigan State University in 1996, and the National Award in memory of P V Sukhatme in 2008 from the Government of India. The Indian Society for Probability and Statistics awarded him the C R Rao Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (1983), Indian National Science Academy (1984), Indian Academy of Sciences (1992), and National Academy of Sciences (1993).
