The University of Toronto Mississauga is a satellite campus of the University of Toronto. It is in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada about 33 kilometres west of the main St. George campus. It was formerly called the Erindale College but was later changed to the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). The campus has eight main educational buildings: the Maanjiwe nendamowinan Building, Deerfield Hall, the William G. Davis Building, the Kaneff Centre and Blackwood Gallery, the Recreation, Athletic, and Wellness Centre, the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre which holds UTM's library, the Instructional Building, and the new Terrence Donnelly Health Sciences Complex for the Mississauga Academy of Medicine. The campus also houses 3 residence halls: Erindale Hall, Roy Ivor Hall, and Oscar Peterson Hall.
Ahmed Hussen is a Canadian lawyer and politician who has been serving as the Minister of International Development since July 26, 2023. A member of the Liberal Party, Hussen has also sat as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Toronto-area the riding of York South—Weston since the 2015 federal election. Kevin Vuong is a Canadian politician serving as the member of Parliament (MP) for Spadina—Fort York since the 2021 federal election, sitting as an Independent. While Vuong was nominated as a Liberal Party candidate, the party disavowed him days before the election, following reports of an ongoing lawsuit against him as well as a dropped sexual assault charge from 2019, which he had failed to disclose during the party's internal vetting process. As nominations had already closed by that point, Vuong remained on the ballot as a Liberal and was elected.
