Hagerman High School is a small high school located in Hagerman, New Mexico, southwest of Roswell. [3]

Sports

Hagerman High School has a gymnasium with a seating capacity of 600, over four times its enrollment, for its teams, the Bobcats. Bobcats have nine football state championships, the last being in 2013 with a 12–0 record.

Partnership with Eastern New Mexico University

The high school has a "partnership" with Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). Hagerman High students attend workshops at ENMU, [4] and have access to special scholarships from ENMU. [5]

Art

The Senior Class of 1919 commissioned a landscape by noted artist Herbert A. Collins of Stanley Lake in the Sawtooth Range, which was presented to the school. [6]

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is the governing body of interscholastic sports for most public schools in New York outside New York City. The organization was created in 1923, after a predecessor organization called the New York State Public High School Association of Basketball Leagues began in 1921 to bring consistency to eligibility rules and to conduct state tournaments. It consists of 768 member high schools from the state divided into 11 geographic sections. While as its name suggests the vast majority of its members are public, it does include a number of private and Catholic high schools. Most of these are located in Central New York and the Capital District, where parallel sanctioning bodies for private schools do not exist. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Harold Elliott (American football)</span> American football coach

Harold Edward "Bud" Elliott was an American football coach. He served as the head coach at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas (1964–1968), Washburn University (1969–1970), Kansas State Teachers College—now known as Emporia State University (1971–1973), the University of Texas at Arlington (1974–1983), Northwest Missouri State University (1988–1993), and Eastern New Mexico University (1994–2004), compiling a career college football record of 205–179–9. Elliott won more games than any other head coach in the history of Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds football program. He coached football at high school and collegiate levels for over 40 years. In his last season of coaching in 2004, Elliott became the 46th head coach in NCAA football history to reach 200 wins. At the time of his retirement, he ranked third in victories among active NCAA Division II coaches.

Mark Ribaudo is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive coordinator at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas. Ribaudo served as head football coach at Eastern New Mexico University from 2005 to 2011. He took the program over from longtime coach Harold Elliott after serving as an assistant coach under Elliott at Eastern New Mexico for eight years.

Cynithia "Janay" DeLoach is a United States track and field athlete who won the bronze medal in the women's long jump at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
