Haji Buland Khan was an Indian politician and bureaucrat. He was part of the 6th,7th and 8th Jammu and Kashmir Legislative assembly (Vidhan Sabha). [1]
He represented the Gulabgarh constituency of Reasi district of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir for 3 times. [2] He was also elected as a member of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council in 1996. Khan Sahib also worked as an Auditor in Jammu &Kashmir Co-operative Department from 1955-1960. Khan sahib was also the vice chairman Gujjar and bakerwal advisory board ( with mos status ) for two times . i.e. From 1986 - 1990 and from 1997 - 2007 . He was also the founder chairman of Gujjar and bakerwal conference,an organisation dedicated for the upliftment of Gujjar and bakerwal community
For almost 9 years he served as Chairman of Panchayat Halqa Thuroo. He served for 14 years as Vice Chairman of Gujar Bakarwal board. In 1962 Khan was requested by Sheikh Abdullah to join Plebiscite Front. Haji Sahib was also jailed in special jail Jammu for six months after joining Plebiscite Front. Khan Sahib was given many life threats but he did not pay attention to that.
Khan Sahib in 1996 did not contest election so ticket was given to his son Ajaz Ahmed Khan. Khan Sahib was elected as Member of Jammu &Kashmir Legislative Council in October 1996 by National Conference. He also represented the problems of his community to Manmohan Singh Ji who was Prime Minister of India at that time and to Sonia Gandhi UPA chairperson back then &Home Minister Shivraj Patil. He died on 6.06.2007 at his official residence at Srinagar after a prolonged illness. [3] [4] [5] [6]
After his death state mourned for 3 days by flag down &3 day state holiday. His eldest son Ajaz Ahmed Khan represents Gool-Arnas Vidhan sabha Constituency 10th,11th &12th Jammu &Kashmir Legislative Assembly &also served as Minister of State. ajaz Ahmed khan sahab is also following the footsteps of haji sahab and doing appreciatable work for the people of ST community as well as for the people of jammu kashmir . [7] Khan Sahib younger son represents Gulabgarh Vidhan sabha Constituency in 12th Jammu &Kashmir Legislative Assembly. [8] Khan Sahib daughter is married to Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Cabinet Minister in Mehbooba Mufti &Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Govt. [9]
Reasi district is an administrative district in the Jammu division of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir in the Jammu region. The Reasi district is bordered by Udhampur district and Ramban district in the east,Jammu district in the south,Rajouri district in the west and by Kulgam district on the north. The Reasi and Rajouri tehsils formed a joint district called the "Reasi district" at the time of the princely state's accession to India in 1947. As part of the reorganisation,the two tehsils were separated and Reasi was merged with the Udhampur district. It again became a separate district in 2006.

Abdul Ghani Malik is an Indian politician and member of the Jammu &Kashmir National Conference. Malik is a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from the Gulabgarh constituency in Udhampur district. Chowdhary Mohmmad Hussain was an Indian politician and bureaucrat. He was part of 4th,6th,8th and 9th Jammu and Kashmir state Legislative assembly. He represented the Darhal Vidhan Sabha constituency of Rajouri district of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir 5 times. He was first elected as MLA from this seat,on the mandate of Indian national congress in 1967 and 1969. He remained district chief of the INC for a long period. In 1972 he was denied the mandate by the INC,In 1975 he joined Jammu and Kashmir national conference headed by Sheikh Mohmmed Abdullah. In 1977 he contested the elections from the same vidhan sabha seat on the mandate of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and was elected for 3rd time to the Vidhan Sabha. He was inducted in the council of ministers of Sheikh Mohmmed Abdullah. In 1983 he lost the elections to INC candidate and veteran spiritual gujjar leader with a very thin margin. In 1987,elections to Jammu and Kashmir legialative assembly,he was again elected to represent this constituency. Again,in 1996 elected to vidhan sabha for,and was again inducted in the council of ministers headed by Dr Farooq Abdullah which he held till his death 30 September 2002. He also served as Block Development Officer from 1957 to 1967. As a minister he headed the revenue,relief and rehabilitation,rural development and Panchayati Raj cooperatives departments etc. His younger son Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali also represents Darhal in 11th and 12th Assemblies and was a cabinet minister in the Mufti Mohommad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti Governments.
