Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah was the fifth modern Sultan of Pahang, and also served as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 26 April 1979 to 25 April 1984. His abdication as Sultan was decided by the Royal Council at an extraordinary meeting on 11 January 2019. A special amendment was passed on the state constitution that gave the body more power for this decision, citing the Sultan's incapability to rule due to his failing health. The abdication announced the next day which was retroactively effective on the day of the Royal Council meeting, paving the way to his son, Abdullah to succeed him as Sultan immediately, and subsequently be elected as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong later the same month.

Giri/Haji is a British crime drama television series which premiered on BBC Two in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2019, and was released internationally on Netflix on 10 January 2020. A co-production between the BBC and Netflix, the series was created and written by Joe Barton, and features an international ensemble cast including Takehiro Hira, Kelly Macdonald, Yōsuke Kubozuka, Will Sharpe, Masahiro Motoki, Justin Long, Anna Sawai, and Charlie Creed-Miles. The series is set in London and Tokyo, with dialogue in English and Japanese. In September 2020, it was cancelled by BBC Two and Netflix.

Fadlallah al-Haji is a Syrian rebel leader, close to Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood. Rumah Warisan Haji Su is a complex of two traditional Malay houses located in mukim Losong, two kilometres from downtown Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. The houses were owned by Haji Su Mohammed Salleh, which he inherited from his family. Haji Su was a shipping magnate in the pre-wars day and was record to have owned several ships or Perahu Besar plying the sea to Southern Thailand and a steam ship plying south to Singapore. After a renovation process by Lembaga Muzium Terengganu, the houses were reopened as heritage buildings and tourist attraction.

The Monument to Sattar Bahlulzade - is a monument to the Azerbaijani artist Sattar Bahlulzade above his grave in the cemetery of the artist's native village, Amirjan, near the Bulbula lake. The sculptor of the monument is Omar Eldarov. The monument was raised in 1975, a year after the death of the artist.
