Halloween Music Collection is a best of album by the gothic, horror instrumental band, Midnight Syndicate, released on July 30, 2010. The band described the album as "60 minutes of songs handpicked by Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka to celebrate the band's first 13 years." [1]

Album information and release

Halloween Music Collection was released on the same day as Midnight Syndicate's The Dead Matter: Motion Picture Soundtrack and the horror movie, The Dead Matter which Midnight Syndicate produced. [1] In an interview with Wired Magazine , Edward Douglas called the album "a great disc to start with if you're looking to try one out." [2] In an interview with the Akron Beacon Journal he added that the name of the album came about because the album "was perfect for Halloween events." [3]

The album was included in a 3-disc set along with The Dead Matter: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and The Dead Matter DVD, and offered for sale at Hot Topic stores in the US. [4] [5]

Reception

Gregory Burkart of Fearnet.com called the album a great place to start for those not familiar with the band adding that he felt it represented their entire career with music "ranging from sweeping symphonic overtures to gothic ambient pieces, complete horror audio environments, and a bombastic church-organ solo." [6]
