Hamilton District Christian High is an independent Christian day school in Ancaster, Ontario Canada. As a registered private school with the Ontario Ministry of Education the school provides a curriculum that follows Ministry guidelines and standards through a Christ-centred, project-based learning approach. The academic program runs from grade 9 to grade 12.

History

Established in 1956 by members of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, the student population represents a variety of over twenty different Christian denominations. Approximately 10% of the student body is made up of international students.

Athletics

HDCH's sports teams are called the Knights, and are particularly strong in soccer, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball and track and field. In addition, the Knights field teams in hockey, slo-pitch, lacrosse, badminton, ski, snowboard and golf. HDCH participates in the HWIAC [ clarification needed ] and competes in Zone 1 of the Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association, [1] part of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations. The school is also a member the Ontario Christian Secondary School Athletic Association and competes with member Christian high schools from all over Ontario. [2]

Hill Park Secondary School was the oldest high school on the Hamilton Mountain and was a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. The school, located at 465 East 16th Street in Hamilton, was founded in 1955 as a fully composite high school, and was the first secondary school built on the Hamilton Mountain. The school was built as part of Hamilton's need for more secondary schools to match the increasing enrollment of baby boomers. The HWDSB announced on 24 May 2012 that Hill Park Secondary School will close, along with Barton Secondary School and Mountain Secondary School. The students will be consolidated into a new, $25 million school, to be named Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School. The school closed in June 2014 and the students from the school moved over to the former Barton Secondary School, renamed to Nora Frances Henderson as a backup until the newer school is opened.

East Liverpool Junior/Senior High School is a public high school in East Liverpool, Ohio, United States.
