Hand Of Mercy were an Australian hardcore band from Sydney, formed in 2007. [1] Formerly signed to the UNFD label. Hand of Mercy released three full-length albums, and two EPs, and toured extensively throughout Australia and internationally.
Hand of Mercy formed when guitarist Adam Mclean and friend drummer Josh Zimmer started playing together. The pair advertised for musicians with similar influences and found guitarist Joshua Campiao. At a Parkway Drive show Josh Zimmer met Scott Bird and invited him to audition as a vocalist. Bird then introduced his friend Adam van den Crust, a bassist.
For several years Hand of Mercy played at hardcore venues around Sydney, and appeared at youth centres throughout the state. They began appearing as opening acts for established groups. They released two EP's Trash the Party and Scum of the Earth in 2007 and 2008 respectively. In 2010 Hand of Mercy were hired to play the annual Resist Records Sydney Hardcore Festival.
Hand of Mercy's first album, The Fallout was released through Dogfight Records and the band toured in March 2011 to promote the record. Zimmer announced his departure from the band and his drumming duties were passed on to Cullum Jensen CJ Mackinnon. The band went on to play with the group A Day to Remember at the Big Top in Luna Park. [2] In August 2011 Hand of Mercy supported For the Fallen Dreams and were then joined well-known band Parkway Drive on the 'Sick Summer' tour in December.
In 2012 Hand of Mercy traveled to the USA and recorded in Cape Cod, Massachusetts with producer Shane Frisby. In June 2012 van den Crust left the band and was replaced by his friend Michael Dawson. [3] Shortly after, the band signed with UNFD, which released the second studio album 'Last Lights' on 17 August. [4] [5] [6] 'Last Lights' spent a week on the Australian Albums Chart at number 44. By August the band were touring again supporting UNFD label mates Dream On, Dreamer nationwide.
In 2013 Hand of Mercy toured throughout Australia, Europe [7] [8] and the UK. In January the band supported Deez Nuts and Comeback Kid in the annual Australian nationwide Boys of Summer Tour. [9] This was followed by an overseas support spot in April for Bleeding Through on their European and UK Farewell Europe tour including dates on the Hit The Deck festival. [10] Returning to Australia, Hand of Mercy appeared in the mini festival Destroy The Music in May with The Ghost Inside. [11]
In 2014, Bird left the band, [5] and the group recorded an album, Resolve, with a new vocalist, Nick Bellringer. [12] [13] and a video for the track Desperate Measures in 2014. [14] They released a single, Axis, ahead of time to promote the album. [15]
In 2015, Campiao left to join the Hellions; however, the band continued performing and touring. [16]
Hand of Mercy have announced plans to break up after a final show on 30 January 2016 at Sydney's Strike Hard Festival, when they will be joined by former vocalist Scott Bird. [17]

Your Demise was a British hardcore punk band from St Albans, England, formed in 2003. They shared stages and toured worldwide with the likes of Comeback Kid, Basement, Trapped Under Ice, Man Overboard, Enter Shikari, Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember and Bring Me the Horizon. On 22 September 2008, the band confirmed that they had signed a deal with Visible Noise. The band played their final gig at The London Underworld on 15 March 2014, after announcing in 2013 that they would be parting ways in March. They reunited for a one-off benefit show for The Ghost Inside in 2015. They reunited again for the anniversary of The Kids We Used to Be, but the shows were postponed due to the COVID-19 situation.
Buried in Verona were an Australian metalcore band from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, formed in 2007. They have released five albums, the most recent being Vultures Above, Lions Below, released in August 2015. In August 2016, UNFD, their signed record company, announced on their Facebook page that the band was breaking up.

Hands Like Houses are an Australian rock band from Canberra. Formed in 2008, the group is currently signed to Hopeless Records and UNFD. Their debut album, Ground Dweller, was released on 13 March 2012, charting at number 141 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. Their second album, Unimagine, was released on 23 July 2013, during their route on Warped Tour. Discoveries is the debut studio album by Australian heavy metal band Northlane. It was released on 11 November 2011 through UNFD. It was produced by Shane Edwards and Dave Petrovic, and recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Arndell Park. It is the only album to feature their second bassist Simon Anderson before he was "fired" from the band.
Trapped Under Ice is an American hardcore punk band from Baltimore, Maryland that was formed in 2007. Since then they have released an EP and three full-length albums. Taking influence from New York hardcore, the band has toured all over the world and was signed to Reaper Records. On August 11, 2013, Trapped Under Ice played its last show at Philadelphia's The Electric Factory at This Is Hardcore Festival 2013. The band announced their reunion in early 2015. In 2017 they released their third LP, Heatwave, on Pop Wig Records.
Landscapes was a British melodic hardcore band based in Somerset, England. Formed in 2009, the band released one EP and two albums. They played at Hevy Music Festival and toured throughout Europe several times.
In Hearts Wake are an Australian metalcore band from Byron Bay, formed in 2006. The band comprises vocalist Jake Taylor, guitarists Eaven Dall and Ben Nairne, and drummer Conor Ward. They have released five studio albums: Divination, Earthwalker, Skydancer, Ark and Kaliyuga, which was released on 7 August 2020. The band's lyrical themes include environmentalism, environmental justice, global warming, conservation, and other social issues.
Skydancer is the third studio album by Australian metalcore band In Hearts Wake. It was released on 1 May 2015 through UNFD and Rise Records. It was produced by Josh Schroeder, Dan Brown and Troy Brady. It is the continuation of their second studio album Earthwalker. The album peaked at No. 2 at official ARIA Charts. It's the last album to feature Caleb Burton as a writer, with his departure following the release of Skydancer. Nic Pettersen of Northlane played drums on the album, with Caleb being unable to secure a US Visa in time to record the album; producer Josh Schroeder revealed on Reddit that he was originally going to track drums for both Earthwalker and Skydancer, going as far as writing the drum tracks for both records and practicing as a touring member for the upcoming shows close to his studio.

Invent Animate is an American metalcore band formed in Port Neches, Texas, in 2011. The group consists of vocalist Marcus Vik, lead guitarist Keaton Goldwire, rhythm guitarist Trey Celaya, bassist Caleb Sherraden, and drummer Brody Taylor Smith. They self-released their debut EP titled Waves on March 13, 2012. After a number of regional tours and increasing popularity in the online djent community, the band was signed up by Tragic Hero Records in February 2014. The band announced they would release their debut studio album titled Everchanger on August 26, 2014. Their sophomore album, Stillworld, was released on July 8, 2016. Their third album and first with Marcus Vik, Greyview, was released on March 13, 2020. Their most recent studio album, Heavener, was released through their new label, UNFD, on March 17, 2023.
